Treasure Maps

Hello:
I am a new player of Elder Scrolls Online.
Recently the Journal came into my daily list of things to read and learn from. The Journal has information on most anything concerning the game, if time is taken to read it. I have not been able to find anything on Treasure Maps. Does the Journal list the maps that you have used? If so, where is this information?
The reason for this question, is that I see Maps for sale at the Guild Stores. Some of the maps are expensive, and I would not like to buy the map if I have already used it previously. So, is there a way to know what maps have been used?

I don't know if they are listed or not...but it's not like recipes....while you can only have 1of same map at a time..once used you can acquire it and use again...however I would not buy any as they really aren't worth that much(esp. what people ask for them)

Thanks for your response. I do not buy the maps, but I was doubting my memory capabilities. I thought I had used some of the maps, but I continue to find them.. So, if you find a map it can be used each time you discover it.

I love treasure hunting but more than likely you will just find 50 gold and a green item or two...sometimes a blue. They're not worth the 400+ gold people sell them for.
