This poll should of had only two options.

    1) Weather should be switched to server-side.
    2) Weather should be switched to server-side.
I can't simply assume that everyone has a definite stance on the issue. For some people, it just doesn't matter, and forcing them into a yes or no situation isn't good for the results. By having a neutral option, you ensure that the people answering yes or no are the people who actually feel one way or the other, and aren't just answering to see the poll results.
I think you missed exactly what options he wanted the poll to have... It wasn't about him not wanting a neutral option, it was about him wanting people to only be able to vote for the option he selected.

While I guess it would be nice if everybody saw the same weather, I honestly don't care either way.

Weather should be switched to server-side.
I'm now going to incorrectly interpret this...

Weather should be switched to server-side. 67%
    Weather should stay client-side. 8%
I don't care one way or the other. 24%

    ...instead, as this...

Weather should be switched to server-side. 91.5%
Oops, I meant to click the one above. 8%
    Toast. 0.5%

Over 99%, so ZoS should slap this into Update 4 as server-side. =)

Personally it doesnt matter to me , i dont really see why not.

Well , maybe this would add a bit to the latency , one could say it doesnt matter , but that is only true to a point , in the end put together many of those little bits and you have an actual sizeable increase in ms.

It wouldn't hurt latency at all. The server only would need to send a flag for weather = 0|1 and the type of weather {some_code}. Could wrap the whole thing up in a bitmask and it could be as small as a bit (YMMV on weather_types) sent occasional inside a packet.

The fact that it isn't confuses me. They also need to display an ingame clock with the game's day/night cycle.

No, just no. 67% of those who participated want it switched, no given that hundreds probably couldn't even be bothered enough to read it's probably
19% Weather should be switched to server-side
    2% Weather should stay client-side
    79% Don't care either way.

And I want it changed, it's not a burning desire, but it would be nice to be able to gripe about the rain without people going what rain.

Having the weather server side would be the best option of the two. Everyone should see the same weather at the same time.
Weather is random inside an area, its a bit simpler to have it on the client however just transmitting weather information would just be a byte of data with status from clear skies to heavy rain with lighting.
Also have an non RP issue if multiple people take screenshot or video of an event like a battle and weather is different.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

As many of us know, weather is currently decided by the client and not the server.
So how are triggered rain and storms client side?
I live in a country where it seems to rain all the time and wouldn't mind a little less rain in game lol

Should stay client side as that allows it to be disabled. Never see rain again :)

    Thoroughly explain how.
    Would turning
    SET RAIN_WETNESS

to 0 be a way to disable raining?

I don't care one way or the other.
    Saw RP.

Could not find the dislike button.

Decided to let you know I dislike people who RP. Or anything about RP.

They cry to much about things that have nothing to do with what MMOs should be fixing.
That is extremely rude and entirely unnecessary.

As for the topic, I do not care as long as performance does not suffer.

I feel it would be better for the whole atmosphere of the game to have synced weather, even for non role players like myself. Sometimes people just talk about the weather, lol.
All the work they put into a TES rain system that FINALLY doesn't clip through the ceilings of buildings and fall through trees; people should be able to talk about it!

Client side... need all the network bandwidth devoted to combat.
This would add ZERO lag. How often does the weather change? Every 15-30 minutes or more. This would literally be the equivalent of a 1 bit flag inside a 32bit event (or thereabouts) sent ONCE when you log in, then once when the weather starts to change.

Even with 7 million people online, that only adds up to about 28MB to the total network traffic over the entire world.

Yeah, don't think that's gonna mess with ur PVPs. :p
