I think it is incredible (as in incredibly ridiculous) that we cannot upload our own pictures to be our avatar. What's the point if it's all just pre-fabricated art? Everywhere I have posted anything - other forums, comments sections in newspapers, etc - I am able to upload a picture of my own. What gives for these forums?

Since it keeps getting pointed out that the dev team is different than the bug team is different than the team that puts the bugs into the code, is it that hard to understand that the forum team might be separate as well?
And that maybe some of us are able to think of several things at once?

People uploaded rude pics in Beta Testing.
If you have a decent picture or five, suggest they add them in a different thread, you might get other people doing the same, and the pictures might get added too.

Hahaha, very funny (I know I'm replying late, had lots of RL issues to deal with these past several weeks). I would use the pic of my Wire Fox Terrier in his Redskins sweater, the pic I use as most of my avatars in most venues (eg, commenting on newspaper articles). I know what you're talking about though, I'm not a fan of those naked/half-naked images either, and it annoys me to no end when in-game people do pushups and situps on each other right at the forge or whatever. I'm sure you know what I mean by that.

That's a good idea, except that my avatar would be a personal picture (I hadn't been clear about that). Be kind of disconcerting to see other people using for their avatar a pic of my little terrier, Snowy "Skullcrusher" Longstreet. (Yes, he has crushed skulls of vermin he catches which is how he earned his middle name. So cute...)

That's actually a really good idea. If they could make an add-on where you could take a picture in game specifically for an avatar, which would automatically upload here or something (so they don't have to worry about moderation since all pics would be from in-game), that just sounds like win-win to me. Of course I couldn't use my dog's pic as my avatar but I'd like having my character's pic better than a generic avatar.0
