Alchemy 50!

GieniuszKrab
Hello,

I've just reached level 50 in Alchemy. :D Write some GZ. :D Anyway, this is not why I made this post. I would like to know how much money did you guys spent for it, because I'm afraid I spent too much. :\

    Gratz GieniuszKrab!

My answer though won't help, as I cannot comprehend why anyone would pay coin and buy crap which is obtainable as one plays along the rest of the game. Self-sufficiency is cool.

    I spend 0 gold.

As the post above stated, there are an abundance of mats and waters and you shouldn't have had to buy anything. I leveled to 50 using nothing but the junk mats that weren't need for any of the good potions, like Ninroot. A good many people skip over these types of mats while harvesting, so they were always readily available.

There are lots of Nirnroot-only nodes, of course. My HarvestMap database has many little clusters of 3 Nirnroot plants that take turn spawning. I've always taken them all, if and when the Snakeblood passive is fixed I'll have some use out of them. But what you say, @Vuron, is especially true of mushrooms. Blue Entoloma is useful (try Blue Entoloma + Columbine + Namira's Rot) and somewhat rare, and sometimes you have to take some useless Emetic Russula before the BE will appear.

Seriously, there is never any need to buy anything to level Alchemy. The important thing in that craft is knowing how to make useful potions; that you can do even at a low level (unlike Enchanting...). To make them in quantity, and make 3-ingredient pots (the good ones), yes, you need to get some levels, spend some skill points, but I don't think there's anything beyond level 32 in any case (need to check to be sure).

You know, there is a reason that there's no Alchemy hireling.

zero, grinded out potions on mats that aren't useful at the moment and made 50 without buying anything. Selling Magicka and Healing pots now for 3k/stack of 10.

zero, the filtered water stage was annoying (not sure if they have made them more common now) and I made cash by selling filtered water, but never spend any money on parts.

Now enchanting..... that has cost me!

I didnt spend any gold to level alchemy but I will admit that I bought some columbine, mountain flower and bugloss at various points when I was spamming my triple restoration potions and ran out. I got smart and put points in making four potions at a time and never needed to buy again.
I did make a pretty penny selling useless mushrooms. Every time my Dragon Thorn or Blessed Thistle or Lady Smock hits 22 in stock, I sell half and make some dough.
3/3 Keen Eye in both Alchemy and Clothing. No plant is safe from me.

None of those are mushrooms. I think Emetic Russula is the only completely useless ingredient, at least until the Snakeblood passive fix is delivered.

Try these, you might not want to sell those mats any more:

Blessed Thistle + Dragonthorn + Water Hyacinth
    Columbine + Lady's Smock + Water Hyacinth
Dragonthorn + Mountain Flower + Water Hyacinth
    Dragonthorn + Lady's Smock + Water Hyacinth.

Of course, you'll need a potion-switcher addon like Easy Quick Slots or Greymind Quick Slot Bar (and many others).

I run six potions on my Quickmind: Triple Restoration, H/M/SCrit, H/S/Unstop, M/SDam/SCrit, S/WDam/WCrit and Health/Vanish.
I use Blue Entoloma and Namira's Rot is those mixes.
But I pick up tons and tons of Lady Smock/Dragon Thorn/Blessed Thistle as compared to Columbine/Bugloss/Mountain Flower. For every Columbine I pick up, I will pick up three of Lady Smock and three Dragon Thorn and three Blessed Thistle. As for Water Hyacinth, I pick that stuff like crazy.
The result is my stock of the key three might reach 15 of each at the same time my stock of the lesser three reaches 28.

BTW: My sentence structure was poor. It should have read:
"I make a pretty penny selling useless mushrooms. On top of that, every time my ..."
I sell Imp Stool, White Cap, Luminous Russula and Stinkhorn. I pick them all the time, they are hugely common in Cyrodiil, and I sell them cheap enough that people leveling an Alchemist snap them up within two or three hours.
