Why does this game have an obsession with necromancers?

Yes, we get it, necromancy is bad. We dont need them to be the thing we fight 90% of the time. 90% of the Ebonheart and Covenant quest lines can be summed up as "Yo bro! Those necromancers be necromancing it up! Go kill them before they summon some super duper awesome special dead thing! "

I think its a molag bol thing.

I figured that but sheesh. The whole unique feeling of necromancy gets lost when you fight 3 different necromancer cults 10 minutes into the game.

One of the things I was going to make a request down the line was a Necromancer class. The idea of a turncoat Soulless One who thought the dealings of Mannimarco too extreme is actually very appealing with the very huge bias against necromancers that runs in this game.

Molag Bal is the father of Vampires in the Elder Scrolls Lore and in ESO he`s the ultimate bad guy . I think it`s only fitting that most of his followers would be Necromancers or various types of undead things.

Personnaly i enjoy fighting undeads and Daedra but i`m aware that different people have different tastes .

In any case, this was only the begining of what should be a very long adventure so i`m sure the next bad guy will have different followers and will offer different stuff to fight .

That being said , why does it seem like people are complaining just about every single aspect of ESO ?

It`s almost as if people play this game searching for stuff to complain about .
More than half the posts i read on the forums are people complaining about pretty much everything , yet they keep playing the game .

Here is a thought , if you don`t like doing something , don`t do it . Especially when it`s a game , no one if forcing you to play a game you don`t like .

Sharing your opinion about something is fine , when it`s relevant or when it`s contructive criticism . But complaining about the type of NPC`s you`re fighting makes it seem a lot more like pathetic ranting more than anything else.

Be who you want to be , do what you want to do, play the way you want to play.

    1. Will it be a class in a future update?

    2. Are there a lot of mechanics in use by mobs and not by players that look like they could become Class Line abilities? Is it possible some of them already are, and just aren't usable by players?

    3. Would you want to play a Necromancer class?

    Within; Without.

Maybe with Justice system, they will eventually add more content for evil characters like Necromancer skill tree, yes tree absolutely tree not an class, too muany classes allready.

As i said player necromancy, evil main storyline maybe siding with Mannimarco.. playig to help all those cultists and evil we now fight agains..

At least with Dark Brotherhood there has to be some evil involved :)

I almost always play Lawful good to neutral characters but in any TES i also had an evil to play with, good change and hopefully that will be part of ESO someday and now im out of topic almost blablabla byee :D

My biggest hope is that when they finally add the spell crafting system, some of the new spells will allow us to summon those awesome Flesh Atronachs or the Bone Collosus .

I don`t care if they`re not as big or as powerful as the ones summoned by NPC`s , i just want to be able to summon my own Bone Collosus . They`re just too cool looking and i have to have my own .

So yeah i`m just keeping my fingers crossed untill the spell crafting system is added and then if they`re still not available for players, then i`ll start bugging AND begging Zenimax for them to add those two .

I don`t care how hard they will be to acquire , i don`t care if it takes me a full month of play time to finally get one of those two . I WILL have my bone collosus one way or another :expressionless:

ignoring the latter half of that post.....

Mehrunes Dagon is always a powerful "blow everything up for fun" one to have.

His forces in particular are more War like, using large siege engines in Oblivion to destroy entire towns in a matter of hours. Reducing them to rubble.

Anyways, Necromancers are always a force you end up fighting in numbers in TES games.. Due in no small part to the fact that undead enemies are one of the more common ones to encounter.
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

It's part of ESO's fascination with alternative lifestyles.

Everything in this game revolves around Necromancy, Vampires, or Cross Dressing. It's like going to a Marilyn Manson concert.

Well , it is a game about beating the crap out of necros , what did you expect lols?

Still if we ever get an expansion , we will probably get something else to beat.

Its like your main enemy is some necromancer guy....and also a worm cult of necromancers...

its almost like its designed this way on purpose....

interestingly enough, I like the consistent and overlapping storyline vs the typical mmorpg affair where theres one main storyline and a lot of random stuff out there that maybe at best is connected via some extremely loose and stretched story thread.

It just feel much more..."whatever" when every new town (quest hub) and person has their own random issue that has nothing to do with my main objective.

They got it right in this game, not to say there are not minor side quests that have nothing to do with what im doing... The majority of it feels like its all connected.

    So yeah necromancers.

Ehh, of the storylines I recall:
Bleakrock - Preparing and evacuating the prisoners because of DC raids
Bal Foyen - DC is raiding the mainland
Stonefalls - Summon a brother of strife to protect a city; Quell the risen dead who were awoken from the attacks; Aid villagers of a village caught in a lava flow & find a missing person; Get information on how to return the brother of strife back to rest from the sorcerer who helped restrain him; Proceed with the ritual to confine the brother of strife; Aid miners who were betrayed by daedra when rogue Dunmer wanted to collect them as slaves; Scour a DC camp for information and aid a Dunmer fort being riddled with DC assassins; Help unite the citizens of Ebonheart; Prevent the DC from controlling the Coral Heart; Learn the origins of the brothers of strife; Aid a village against a DC war party at the geysers; Aid a small fiefdom against increased goblin/spider attacks; Carry out strikes against invaders around an Argonian village; (Necromancy) Free a Dunmer city from DC invaders who are apparently ressurecting soldiers in to zombies; Aid a town of civilians and scholars who had their ancient dead awoken by the invaders when they stumbled on a relic; Chase a mourning Dunmer father as he tries to release the other brother of strife in revenge for his son being killed; Arrive too late to prevent the releasing of the second brother, and put him back in his restraints
Deshaan - Not really about necromancy, but about a plague being released by the Malbourn in a plot to overthrow the tribunal
Shadowfen - Also not really about necromancy, but about the Vice-cannons attempting the prevent the AD from getting a foothold in the area
    Etc.

    Totally 90% necromancy.

So if you consider undead, regardless of the source, = necromancy, you could make a case that an overwhelming amount of content in TES 3/4/5 are about necromancy as well.
