Armour set drop questions-

I have the feeling that I'm missing something about set armor and how they drop.. So i have the Necromancer set and upgraded them to blue... I had the full set by VR2... I have been waiting for more powerful versions to drop but they have not for any single piece of the set.

So for example, my hood might be VR1... will I never find a VR12 version of it because I already have it? I'm VR7 now and since VR2 I have never seen a piece of this set drop again. Is there no higher version of them or are they only available from certain zones or what?

I was thinking that I would need to reaccumulate the pieces once at lvl12 as new greens and then upgrade them for maximum effect... but now I don't know what to think.

Can someone clarify this behavior please?

Dropped sets have a level Range, so if your above or below the level you won't get any.

Thanks Nestor.. but this only partially explains things.. I checked this link and the just robe of Necromancer shows the full range; VR1-12... why haven't I found higher version yet? I accumulated the whole set in the span of about a couple days playing...(about a half a level)... then not a single other set drop next couple weeks of playing.

Do I have to destroy a piece to get it to drop again? Is something bugged?

I'll try to elaborate as best I can. The set itself drops at VR levels 3 & 4. It does not drop again until you make it into the Craglorn area. The reason it says 1-12 on VR levels is because once you hit Craglorn it will drop at the VR level of your character (iirc). In theory you could be VR1 there and so get VR1 level of the set. I may need to change this, since this may not even be possible. A more accurate statement would be it drops at VR 3/4 and then again at around VR8 and up in Craglorn only. Hope that helps.

P.S. I'm updating the entire sets page(s) over the next couple of days to all the new versions of the sets since Update 3. I'll update the level ranges to make this confusion a bit less confusing.

I would look at the new guild vendors (and your own guild stores) using the VR filter you are looking for. That may, at least, give you a better chance to get what you want without relying on random luck.
