The AD emperor reported me for doing too much damage.

Before I get into the story, let me point out, I'm stacked in weapon power, 2300 stamina, Nb (10% extra crit damage) Shadow Stone with 4/7 mundus ( Approx 5% crit damage) Incapacitate, (12% bonus damage on heavy attacks.) Piercing mark. (75% reduced Armor.) Flawless Dawnbreaker Ultimate (13% increased damage on weapon attacks. ( Not affected by Weapon damage soft cap as far as I can tell)

So... Me and a guildy are fighting. We see an Enemy AD. ( vr12 DK With sword and Board) My guildy charges in while I remain stealthed. I quickly pop my incapacitate and Charge a bow attack. Upon release, I hit my target for a whopping 1500 damage. Moments later I received a Pm from said target saying "enjoy your report." Naturally, I was confused. So I replied, "What exactly did I do?" this was quickly followed up with "Bow Heavy attacks exploit, Reported."

I then tried to reason with the person. " How is this an exploit? and even if it was, what exactly should I be doing? Should I switch to Resto staff in which I am Lvl1? My bar has literally 1 Attack (poison arrow) so I rely heavily on Light / heavy attacks"

I later found out that this person has ignored me and failed to provide me with a reasonable explanation.

So, My question is this. Can I be banned for having a decent single target build? I mean really, my Options for attack are Heavy Attack, Light attack, and Poison arrow. I have No Execute, No Defenses, Everything on my bar is used to support a High damage First attack.

I obviously don't know if this person Actually did infact report me. But it got me thinking.

Thoughts?
Suggestions?

Just like lawyers with frivolous lawsuits, filing a complaint does not mean it's taken seriously by anyone. I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree anyone with the least bit of common sense will tell you, using heavy attack with any weapon is clearly an exploit.

As long as everything you do is based on in game abilities and skills and not in any external add on / cheat then you have nothing to worry about. Even if said abilities are proven OP that's still the designers problem, not yours.

Doesn't sound like anything that you can get in trouble for, but it does sound like an awful case of balancing mess. 1500 friggin damage in one shot? Jeebus.

Then again, you seem to have thought your build out well, so I can't fault you.

While I see your point, This is also a sacrifice, I mean, I can only do this one time per fight. Most NB can do this with Impale. So Essentially I traded My execute at the end of the fight for one at the begininng of the fight.

Don't worry about it. Even if he did report you, ZOS would take one look at your load out, see it's all legal and close the file. It's just a case of sour grapes and someone crying because someone was better at build-fu than they were.

Don't worry, we reported a banana emperor in Wabbajack EU because he was exploiting the game to run like a rabbit and he never got banned. One report from one player will prolly mean nothing.

No you did not do anything wrong. Even if the damage scaling bug was in place, you'd still be blameless. It is an uncontrollable bug. As for the hit-critical-with-a-bow exploit, could have swore that was gameplay? Might just be me..

It is silly sausages like that, that give AD a bad rep. If someone was confused on the damage, they'd question it through whisper. Not auto-decide that you are guilty and report you.

The solution to this is parental controls on the game

It's real easy....exploits that help you=good....exploits that harm you = bad....whoever this person is was just mad they didn't use an exploit first.....
I'm not saying what you did is an exploit just the concept...actually Noone should be banned for a games poor programming.

I ran anomaly runs in craglorn...I put in the time but had no idea it was an exploit and I really didn't want to run repeated quests....should I be banned because the rewards for running anomaly was actually good? No...Instead they nerfed it ....so this should have been caught by developers before release or left in game to give that option....Instead they nerfed it to force you back to the lazy vet system.

In short I wouldn't worry and if they do ban you then I would demand a full 100% refund for what you spent on the game to date. If your car brakes fail because of a known defect they really can't hold you to blame for not stopping.

Lame stuff like this is why I usually stay out of Cyrodiil. PvP is a magnet for petty players whose ego is wrapped up in some imagined superiority. They don't take it kindly when you burst their bubble.

Seeing as emperor is a more accurate measure of time played and inverse to real-world jobs held than it is of skill, I'd say it explains itself.

I've also noticed a disturbing trend of social behavior from emperors. They have about a 75% chance to be complete jerks.

Besides, it takes next to no effort to get emperor if you guild was flipping previously.

Yeah, That's kinda why I posted part of my build at the top. i'd normally keep it under wraps. But I wanted to show that the math makes this possible.

Hey now, I didn't say they were slackers or that I am not. I just mean more time to play drastically increases chances of reaching emperor. The people I've seen are gaining points what seems like 20 hours a day. I know there are shortcuts if you coordinate as well, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a major time sink.

Thats why he can stack weapon damage, he doesnt need to invest in crit hit too much.

So....72 crit resistance versus 100-150% crit chance means you have a 28%-72% chance to get nuked. I believe your only defense against this is to purge/cleanse mark target and.....wear heavy armor....

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't trash the AD because someone was a jerk either. The only reason I personally went AD is because they are a faction that has really not seen any play in the series, whereas the areas where Ebonheart and Daggerfall have been have. It was purely a thematic choice, and a desire to see something new.

As for hitting someone with 1500 damage, I'm not entirely sure how that's an abuse, even if he is Emperor. You've clearly stacked your damage and crits, and in fact I had a similar idea for my Templar to use at some point.

Too bad he wasn't a vamp. I have the same exact attack @Astien. If you turn on Camouflage Hunter (fighter's guild skill), and it goes off on first shot (sometimes it doesn't), for me it's an extra 500 damage. I have a fire enchant on my bow and sometimes I get an explosion for an extra 150 damage. I have been known to single shot mobs with 2200+ HP in the opening shot. Granted, while that is PvE, I would hope to be able to see the same effects in PvP.
