Update 4

So if ZoS neglects to make any serious improvements towards balance (can't stress that enough) for at least update 4 I can't see myself paying a sub much longer. I'm not hating on the game, I love the game. I see all the potential it has, and what ZoS has made is beautiful and immersive, especially for an MMO. But there are many other games out/on the way that are worthy of my sub money. I can deal with bugs and other problems, but seriously player stats/resources need a revamp, and skills need to be changed, and it should be #1 priority. I know I'm not alone on this. I find myself to have a lot of patience but ZoS is wearing me out, not the game. If they simply revamped just 1 ability, Momentum, for example that would be enough to give me hope to continue playing. I'm not trying to be completely negative towards ZoS, they do a good job at releasing content, and they have shared a lot to the public about where the game is headed. I know update 4 will have a ton of new content, I'm just going to hate it if I have to wear a dress along with the other 80% of v12's.

I can imagine all the haters for this post would either be under v12 or a mage, Don't forget the LOL

They understand. To a point. They have said they want to be very careful with adjustments because they don't want to ramp things up too much then have to turn around and start nerfing things back down. Which makes sense.

Some of the new set bonus's for stamina are nice. And they have made a few nice changes to stamina weapon dps and heavy armor passives.

But it's not enough. Not even close. Class skills still totally dominate most weapon skills. Magicka still far surpasses stamina as a powerful manageable resource for both survivability and dps.

Like you said. When you start seeing at least 50% of endgame players wearing plate and leather and using something besides a healing weapon for meta builds, then we will know there is true balance. Until then it's just lipstick on a pig.

They already said that changes they make to balance will be done slowly. After each one, the combat team decides what to do next.

With each tweak, there is the possibility of a new optimal path. Think of it like a challenge, part of the game, to find that new path each time.

All I see is complaints about PvP.
So ... I don't play it.
Everything else seems to be coming along just fine for my liking.

I may be perma canceling myself and going back to EvE... or something. I can't find myself wanting to log in and play much anymore. I played through once, there's nothing left to do, the guild system is busted, PvP is a joke. And Honestly I have better things to spend money on.

If it doesn't make update 4 then there's always 5....or 6 or some other future addition hype to string you along. No matter what they do they screw it up.. This company has a reputation now of 1 step forward 2 steps back. So chances are they will fix something only to screw up a few other things. Sad but true and Noone can really argue that fact.

Agreed, we just have to look at the official thread of 'Known issues' about the latest patch to see Zenimax's idea of fixing things...lol

I have to agree OP.

I get the whole "small changes" strategy, but the imbalances, as well as end-game content encouraging nothing but high dps and heals rather than role diversity, is huge. It is actually a colossal ****-** and has alienated more than a few builds. Sorry, this is the truth. Can you do most content in heavy armor and 1h s+b? Absolutely, I have, but it has no bearing on the current imbalances.

I have been in Craglorn for a while already. The issue is a reality and ZOS is being complacent about it or simply to scared to admit the far-reaching flaws in their current design before they have a solution. Well, personally I feel they have not actually acknowledged the vast chasm between cloth+stick and other builds.

NOBODY CARES, nobody... can't stress this enough, even ZOS doesn't care if one person unsubs, especially if you take into consideration that probably 90% of the people who play the game aren't even in the forums...

If you want things to change, make your point and try to get people's support, give new ideas that can help fix the game.

I guess the problem is that most of those posts are all about rant "Ya better fix it by update 4 else I'm out". ZOS is already aware of the issues, they are already working on it and peopl threatening to unsub ain't gonna make ZOS work faster.

These posts are useless.

Also, you completely missed the core of his post. It was not about unsubbing, but rather WHY he wants to unsub/what makes him lose interest. That, more than anything, is valuable information to ZOS (sure, it isn't exactly new information, but still... ).

Any business owner worth his 2cents will tell you that he would rather know what is not working, rather than what is working, simply because there is opportunity there
