Do you want dyeable weapons and shields?

I think it's really dumb not to be able to dye my shield (atleast the shield, since it's a part of 'armor' in my opinion) and sword/staff/axe whatever when I can dye the rest. I ended up with daedric armor that's red and black, like daedric armor should be, and a sword and shield that are dark gold and It doesn't fit at all, I think since devs made armor dyeable, they should go one step further and allow us to dye weapons!

Shields, yes. Like to match or contrast them to the armors.

Weapons, nah, those typically don't match the armor colors in most situations and games anyway.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I could understand the objection to dyeing weapons if they were standard silver/grey metal color, but my swords are blue and don't match my armor at all. So either I want to dye them to match, or have all weapons be a realistic metal color, regardless of quality.

Shields yes, weapons only if they're realistic metal colors, (or wood colors for wooden weapons).

Well, problem is i DO NOT want pink/purple/green weapons and shields. That the reason why I want to be able to change their colors to something more neutral.

And about "realistic colors" - it is already too late. There are a lot of people in heavy armors colored pink/red/yellow/anything you can imagine. And it "works as intended".
So what the reason to force weapon/shield colors (sometimes VERY unrealistic) if ability to dye metal armor in any color already there?

Well reason you currently can't dye shields & weapons, (as stated in Quakecon by Paul Sage) is because half the dev team seems to want to do it and the other half doesn't want people runing around with pink swords.

I guess I could live with shield dyes but not swords.

Honestly if we wanted realism with dyeing the only real dying capability would be cloth (any as most cloth can be bleached), Leather (just about any color but some limitations based on material (leather can be bleached too), and metal (very limited with realism being tied to impurities/additives that could seriously weaken the final product). Again, if you can color metal armor, then the same process would be used for metal weapons. No I don't want pink weapons, but I want my X metal armor to match my X metal sword's color.

I don't want weapons completely dyable- I think it would be very helpful to be able to dye a sword's hilt to match your armor, or dye a bow's quiver to do the same, etc. Shields definitely. The shield not being the same silver and black color scheme as my lowbie Templar's armor made me go dual-wielding. e_e

Yes. I believe at the very least, woodworking items should be dyeable. I don't really care about swords, etc... however I guess it wouldn't hurt to throw in there for the hilts, etc..

This seems kind of a lame argument on their part. My VR12 purple-quality swords are a very obvious shiny navy blue and my VR8 daggers of the same quality were lime green. I don't see how pink would be worse.

I could get over weapons not being dye-able if the ones I had were normal colored in the first place.

Truth is, i hate how my weapons are already dyed but a completely different colour from my armour. It doesn't fit at all.

Wouldn't mind if my weapons were just steel or silver looking, but blue and gold and salmon pink do not match my green and black dyes.

Same situation for shields. Hopefully something we see added soon.

I find this argument silly no matter who says it. People who would dye their shield or sword pink are the ones already running around in pink armour. So what difference does it make? So having somebody run around with a pink shield is bad, yet it's perfectly fine for people to be running around in full pink armour?

Yes, but not metal, that would be silly. I see no reason why not a sword handle though... Even metal should have some options, but I'm not really down with rainbow swords.

And shields are a must. Silly that I can dye all my armor white and gold to look like a true Mer paladin, but then the look is ruined by the silly green and yellow shield I picked up.

Many people strongly disagree with option to change color of metal weapons.

So it is perfectly realistic to look like this. But we are not allowed to change weapon color from lime-green to steel because it would break “realism”. Am I right?
