Idea for Immovable and morphs (Heavy Armor ability)

jamie.goddenrwb17_ESO
What do you all think of this?

Immovable - Increase armor and spell resistance by 3% per piece of heavy armor equipped and grants immunity to knockback and disabling effects for the duration. (Duration 8 seconds)

Morphs
Immovable Brute - Increases spell resistance by 2% per piece of heavy armor equipped and grants immunity to knockback and disabling effects for the duration. (Duration 8 seconds)

additional: increases weapon and spell critical by 2% per piece of heavy armor equipped while slotted (Sacrificing the additional armor and some spell resistance for both criticals)

Unstoppable: Increase armor and spell resistance by 3% per piece of heavy armor equipped and grants immunity to knockback and disabling effects for the duration. (Duration 8 seconds)

additional: Increases duration for each piece of Heavy Armor equipped by 5%.

These are just numbers I threw together, they would obviously require more in depth balancing.

Immovable Brute can now be used by dps characters of all types, sacrificing the additional physical mitigation boost, part of the spell resistance and of course, the ability slot on your skill bar. This is a counterpoint to light armor tanks sacrificing a skill slot to magically boost their armor over cap.

Unstoppable becomes a powerful tank/survival tool, improving the attractiveness of heavy armor in general.

As the initial skill and both morphs now scale with the number of heavy armor pieces worn, this solves the problem of the ability being taken by characters that aren't wearing any heavy armor and getting all of the benefits from the skill.

Do people seriously just see heavy as "tank only" when the other two types can do almost anything?

people arent using unstoppable for the defence buffs btw, they are specificly using it for CC immunity. better to just make the ability require 4 heavy armor and be done with it, same for the other 2 armor actives
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

I really wish that it wasn't this way, but the Heavy Armor passives are kind of set up that way, with the offensive passive really weak, and the defensive passives set up more for tankiness than survivability. The only passive that really helps with survivability is Resolve, and even that needs more spell protection to really be a help.

I really wish that heavy armor was more about survivability, allowing you to stand tall against enemies, meaning that you'd kill slower than the other armor types, but come away with more health at the end of the fight. That should be the trade off. Instead, we get damage restoration instead of avoidance in two of the powers, and a weak offensive passive.

As such, it becomes a Tank-only armor for the most part. I think that most of the casual population of the game would use it for looks anyways, but the number-crunchers will never see it as a viable choice the way it is now.

Being able to use the active powers regardless of what armor you are currently wearing is also part of the problem.

Adding spell resistance is a complete waste of a buff. My spell resistance is already overcharged without Immovable and spells constantly send me to my maker. There is absolutely no benefit to adding or increasing spell resistance with this skill.

Cool that still works, lock it to 5 pieces! Could even strip it back or remove it from the dps version to keep it from being overpowered and just call the morph Brute.

I'd like to see a mix of medium and heavy melee dps in the game. Adding something like this seemed like a good way to do it without trying to make heavy the sole choice.

To be honest it was what is already there, no reason it can't be replaced or just removed.

Heavy armor should be a viable option for dps characters and this was the simplest way I could think of to allow it, I'd love to see other ideas while the devs are overhauling the lines!

Locking heavy to one role just hurts the Elder Scrolls feel of the game :)
