Can We Please Get Some MORE Bank & Bag Slots !

I know this is a sore issue with some people but for the love of Jode can we get some additional bank / bag space ?

Obviously people are screaming out for more space and I'm sure most would willingly pay (in-game currency) for additional space. So basically its a win-win situation. We get additional storage space and Zenimax get another gold sink for the economy !

I seriously see absolutely NO reason for an increased bag space/bank space. HOWEVER, what I would love to see is some kind of collection window.
A trophy belt that would fit all your trophies without costing inventory space.
A pet case where it would fit all your pets without costing inventory space.
A Materials bank that only fits 1 stack of each item that is independent from our banks.

If those exist, you won't need any extra space.

This. Mr Phantax, you're not a newb here, you know there were already a lot of threads about this argument. Re-read them.

Sad to say but no - the ESO database clearly can't handle it.

Clearly these would alleviate much of the space problems. In addition it would also be good if maps would have a map case without costing inventory space.

The real problem is when you start ESO their is an overwhelming amount of crap especially materials and you are not sure what to do; some would say LTP but thats a bit unfair especially when its coming from people with well-fed horses, several bag/bank upgrades under their belt, and much of their research already done. Hopefully the upcoming provisioning changes will help a bit; but they really need to make some or all of your suggestions.

The ESO database can't handle it!? But it can handle 7 ALTs each with a horse maxed out for carrying stuff and max bag space, right? Don't kind yourself, there is no issue adding more bag or bank space. It can be done, and I see no reason it shouldn't be done, so long as prices continue to increase as before.

Would I use it? Nope. Would I use a higher item stack limit (i.e. > 100), yup. Would that cost the database anything? Nope.

Well, not technically. I am not asking for extra free space that I can just place in whatever I want. I am asking for specific space to place specific items in it. In fact, if they just do what I've suggested, you could live with 100 inventory space and 100 bank space without having any issues.

GW2 had that exact system and yes it worked fine. Certainly wouldn't mind seeing something like that here in ESO.
(would still like to be able to purchase more bag slots though)

    Tons of provisioning ingredients
    Tons of Alchemy ingredients
    Tons of Enchanting ingredients
    Tons of Trait stones.
Soon to be Tons of special armor cosmetic mats.

Not a lot of space to put them in. I tossed almost all of those trophies because there is no bank space for them and all of my crafting lines and set armors.

I agree and it should handle it but look at the guild bank - why won't it load 50% of the time even during low population hours when nobody else is using your particular guild bank. Also remember during the first month there were those duping problems as well as problems with people losing slots/items. It took them months of increase the size from 20 to <whatever> for runes and it looks like they did that wrong. There is something really bad with the database design/implementation. I also think this is why they have steadily refused to have an Auction House.

I am all in favor of adding more bag and bank space. These changes impact the character only unlike a skill change which can affect other players and the player's gameplay. Besides, this game needs more gold sinks.

I like the idea of trophies, pets, and costumes not counting as inventory space. I haven't purchased all the bank upgrades/bag upgrades/horse max'd yet so I can't really complain about bag space right now. I do find I run out of space hoarding things I want to research and mats for crafts. I actually thought the 100 stack number was pretty generous.

Have you ever programmed? Have you ever built a database? Have you ever ran a Database? Or a Server Farm?

Its a couple of bytes per slot, that is only called up when an inventory screen is opened. It has no load or effect on the game play, combat, dungeon diving or any of that. Only when the Inventory window is open. Besides, we have Guild Banks with 500 slots. We also have the ability to pay more than 800,000 and have 240/120/50 bank spaces. BTW, an absurd sum of money for too small a space.

If this was a problem, then we would not be able to grow our banks. Larger bank space is not going to break the game. Only Paul's feelings because he wants people to mingle because they don't have enough bank space to do anything by themselves.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This is amusing anytime somebody brings this up. Ever heard of Amazon? Ebay? Yeah? Same sort of databases and guess what they manage it just fine. ZOS is using the megaservers as an excuse for being lazy. There's absolutely NO technical reason why it can't be done. This is just artificial limiting.

Ironically, things people usually do in groups are perfectly solo-able, like anchors, world bosses, public dungeons and a good chunk of Craglorn, but crafting, which pretty much always has been a solo experience (with or without interdependencies) is treated with arbitrary limits to enforce socializing. That doesn't make sense at all to me.

Technical limitations however, make perfectly sense. And can be witnessed every day when you log in, just looking at what is missing, was taken from the game and refuses to work properly.

Yep. This game is single player. ZOS has designed it that way and further concreted it with the veteran changes. So yeah.

As far as technical limitations thats a failure on their part. not actual limitations.

Not a lot of space to put them in.

I'd have to say ESO has one of the poorest inventory management systems I've seen, having played many RPGs and MMOs. The fact that the development team is focusing on new shiny things instead of fixing major flaws doesn't point to prolonged playability.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. What we need is shared bank space and character bank space. Easy and would give each character 70+ spaces.

I think a good start would be to lower the price of bank space first. I mean to get to max bank space your looking at spending 768.5K gold. 85K gold to go from 230 to 240 slots for ten freaking slots! that's robbery! That's why so many people create mules. My main toon is V12, and I find it harder to accumulate gold now than when I was completing quests and leveling. End game for me is PvP, which so far pays poorly, gives no soul gems, but at least you don't have to worry about repair costs.
