I think quenn Ayrenn is most jerky of all faction leaders. Her claim to throne is only "I'm altmer" and "man are young." Same reasons why colonial empires enslaved natives in RL- "We are white people and we know what is best for you primitives"

DC wants to restore empire couse as merchants they see profit in it. They want peace in Tamriel so they can trade in peace.

EP actually don't want to rule over empire they only want to prevent other two factions to get throne to keep their independence. If AD or DC get Ruby throne they will try to add EP lands to empire.

As for questing, zone in order i which I liked most DC>EP>Coldharbor>AD.

    The Daggerfall Covenant
Randomly picked one because I wanted to see results. Haven't really gotten in far enough to choose an actually educated response.

Almost all my characters are AD though, because:
    1. My family wanted to play AD, and made me our tank. Only AD race that really seemed suitable for tanking was Imperial.
    2. My favorite three ES races are the other three AD races, so I naturally had to make a character to play on my own of each race.

The plot for DC and AD in the first town was pretty lame (and practically the same). Whereas the plot for EP in the first town seemed pretty epic. (the "newb island" part of AD seemed most epic, but the EP seemed more... visceral?) I haven't done the first full zone for EP yet, but AD's first zone felt far more... connected.. than DC's. Only up to around lvl 10 in EP, but so far it also doesn't feeling as "connected" as AD's, but still better than DC's.

But... Daggerfall (the game) holds a special place in my heart, and I really like the architecture of that tudoresque style, so like spending more time in the DC cities I've been to.

    The Aldmeri Dominion
The Aldmeri Dominion in this age appears to be the most benevolent faction. Ayrenn wants a good Tamriel where everyone are equal and lives peacefully under the Dominion.

I wish I could faction change, the Aldmeri VR quests are making me look at them with admiration.

Daggerfall is the one that makes the most sense to me, and seems the least racist out of the three. The three races get along well, for the most part, and they don't seem to hold any grudges against other races. All they seem to want is for things to chill out so trade can flow. Enjoyed much of the scenery, including the desert, which surprised me. I didn't think the desert could be so lovely. And Darien. Darien is in this alliance, and he amuses and intrigues me. Definitely my favorite NPC.

Ebonheart has so much distrust between the allies and the Argonians are usually still treated like dirt. Plus, as a Morrowind Veteran, I'm somewhat wary of the Tribunal, and have no wish to serve them. They do have the coolest symbol, though. Gotta love dragons.

As for the Dominion, while I do really like the storyline, and adore the stunning scenery, I'm still slightly prejudiced against them from my Skyrim days. As for the elves ruling the other races, it's one of those concepts that's better in theory than in practice. Yes, a long lived, wise, benevolent ruler would be ideal, but the chances of getting a long lived, cruel tyrant instead would be too great. And even if you got your good king/queen, in reality, elven rulers would only, in the end, lead to a sense of elven superiority, which would lead to a rather racist view of all the shorter lived races being lesser races. And, of course, that was how it ended up going in Skyrim.

I started in Ebonheart but fell in love with Aldmeri's beauty, the snobby side of being an elf I suppose. I could have done without Ayrenn being so patently useless though, they could have made her more strong, admirable female.

I Love all of the alliances, at heart i am a man of the dominion, but the Ebonheart pacts main reason for entering the war is just so heroic. I feel like the Daggerfall Covenants main reason to enter Cyrodiil was to try and take the place the Second Empire and i don't see that as a good enough reason. The Ebonheart pact entered the war in part to drive the last Akaviri out of Morrowind, but mainly to stop the "planemeld" from succeeding. The Aldmeri Dominion is in the war to reclaim Cyrodiil and the Imperial city from the crumbling Second Empire. Though i don't think the idea that the mortal races are inferior to the elves is right or true, i do think that it would be the right thing to step in, stop the planemeld, and restore balance to Tamriel. Anythoughts?

    The Aldmeri Dominion
@Runefell You do know, that being prejudiced against them from the Skyrim days, is like hating on the Holy Roman Empire because of ***'s Third Reich?

The Skyrim Dominion is completely different. Ayrenn wants a united Tamrielic Empire, not ruled by Elves, but with equal rights for everyone. Ayrenn would not mind, if at some point in the distant, a Human would end up on the throne when they're ready for it, she just believes, justly so, that Tamriel is in disarray and needs a stable united Empire to recover. The Veiled Heritance are closer to Skyrim Thalmor, and they're some of your main opponents.

The Skyrim one on the other hand...Argues for forced Elven supremacy, and that Men are nothing compared to Elves, and must never rule over Elves. Furthermore, the Thalmor of the Fourth age Aldmeri Dominion have the endgame of destroying Tamriel by destroying the Towers, essentially rendering Tamriel unchained in the Void, and making it become a place as chaotic as a Plane of Oblivion. They believe this will return them their immortality and makes them ascend and become divines.

Two completely different entities with completely different ideologies.

And in the Covenant only the Redguard and the Bretons warily get along. The Orcs are very mistrustful of both and vice versa, and this shows since the Redguard and Bretons later on sacked Orsinium, again and again, and then did it again after the Oblivion crisis. Poor Orsinium.

I have to say Daggerfall Covenant, with Ebonheart Pact being a close second.

Overall I have to say I just out right despised the Aldemeri Dominions quests, except for Reapers March. All of the other zones felt like they were the same zone with the same quests with simply increased rewards. In almost every zone you are doing almost the same exact thing, in almost the same exact sequence.

Traitors, find and kill. Betrayal by trusted allies, stop their plot. Oh no, the Veiled Inheritance! Yeah, I will go kill another 100 of them. Seriously, every single AD zone just got old, real fast. Auridon and the starting Islands were good, but Greenshade and Grahtwood, merely seemed like updated Auridon's. Malabal Tor was different in a few ways, and quite a bit more enjoyable, but it still fell for some of the AD trappings that make me dislike the zones. To be honest, I have encounted approximately x10 more traitors to the AD, than those loyal to it...

As for the Ebonheart Pact, I do love that each zone feels different than the others, yet they are all "connected" if you know what I mean. By this, I mean how they all are of the same flavor, but with different seasons. I will say however, that I absolutely loved the EP starting islands. At first I was a bit iffy since they seemed so condensed, but after the first few quests I loved how easy it was to do multiple quests at once and still be able to get back to town relatively quickly.

However, the reason that I favor the DC over these other two Factions, is because of the people. Overall I remember only two main people from AD, Ayreen and Raz'um Dar. The others I basically have forgotten because they lacked flavor or were all just too similar. As for the EP, well, I have always been a fan of Nords as well as how I actually feel something for some of these quest givers or can understand their motives much easier than, "Do not violate the Green Pact!" The EP feels very blunt, to the point, yet effective. As for DC, I have such a long list of NPC's I remember even though I have not seen them in months.

One thing that really stands out for the Daggerfall Covenant, is that it actually makes me feel like I earned my place as a Hero. In the AD they basically draw you out of the sea and proclaim you their hero. In the EP they do not recognize you as a hero as much, though that is a flavor all its own. But in the DC it all just felt... well, EPIC. In Glenumbra I had to go town to town, liberating the lands people and stopping a great Necromancer who had unleashed several plagues and scourages such as werewolves on the land. Transitioning from that to Stormhaven was slightly bumpy, but once you were a bit in, it felt at home. Protecting the King, saving the religious monks, and even stopping civil wars. It just all felt...right. I will not spoil the other three zones, but they simply carried over that flavor and did their own thing. The pitfall that the DC managed to avoid, was making their heroic deeds seem routine. Each zone had its own unique threat, like chapters in a story, and each had its own flavor making it so that the "Heroic Quest to Safe Guard the Daggerfall Covenant" never got stale.

None of the five zones had the same story like the AD quests, and unlike in the EP quests you grow your legend and people KNOW you are a hero. You were not given your title, you were not taken for granted by others, you earned your place and the respect of the factions leaders. Not to mention that the flow between the zones itself, while not perfect, felt much better than either of the other factions.

Simply put, the Daggerfall Covenant felt, to me at least, like it had the most variety as well as it kept me coming back again and again to see what adventure I would embark on next. What crisis needed to be adverted. And of course, what mischief Stibbons had gotten into in this zone. Or how Darian some how managed to get entangled in the situation of the current zone. There is no other NPC that I felt stuck it through with the characters than Darian. From Glenumbra through Bangkorai, his humor as well as his moments of seriousness really lended itself to the atmosphere. When you were in unfamilar lands I often found Darian nearby and he helped me to face the challenge despite his past failures. He never gave up, and that is what I feel the spirit of the DC is, three races that in the past have warred, yet have come together to persevere.

    For the Covenant!

I loved every part of going through all of AD's lands, and I just can't say the same about EP and DC. I've tried to like them, but I think my deep seated hatred for both EP and DC that can't be extinguished and I can't enjoy them.

For what it's worth, I still call Auridon home even now as a VR12. It's where I bank, craft and trade.
