Kvatch - Future Festival Zone?

Ever since playing Oblivion I wanted to see what Kvatch looked like before it was destroyed along with it's Arena. I think this would be a great idea for a new zone in the future. It could be a new "festival zone" that has arena battles (duels, structured PvP), horse racing, archery contests, and anything else along those lines. The zone could also be open to members of all 3 alliances where people put aside the war for honorary competition. Thoughts?

Edit: This zone could also be updated every now and then to reflect the lore specific holidays in the ES universe.

1. More PVP
2. Communication amongst other factions (could be fun)
3. New activities

With that being said I would like to add to your idea

1. Gambling
2. Market place for costumes (why not you know)
3. More pubs (can never have to many pubs)

Gambling mini games could be cool. I'd also like to see more costumes added in the game, and you are right, can never have too many pubs

I heartily agree with this. I think right now with 3 factions it creates too big of a divide and fragments the player base heavily. It's supposed to set us apart, not keep us apart

Especially after defeating Molag Bal and saving Tamriel, you'd think the factions would at least sit down together for some tea XD

On another note about players not being kept apart, it would be cool that if after an Emperor was crowned, the alliances could agree on a temporary truce for a day. During this time, everyone would be friendly towards one another which would allow for completion of the quests in towns/caves within enemy territory. Alliance point gain from holding keeps would be put on hold during that time to keep things fair. However, I have no idea how the vote would be made to determine the truce.

With the recent 3v3v3 tournament they had, if they were to put it in the game, I think Kvatch would be perfect!

I support the arena idea. Having the option to just have a 1v1 pvp is something that I enjoy and would love to see added.
On the cross faction stuff, idk.... I mean that could be fun, however that could also open up a less appealing community as trash talk would most surely ensue.

I'd buy a cat. Would be perfect for my Argonian cook. She could sit by the fire while he prepares delicious repasts, carefully boxes them up and then follow him to the bank.

I fully support a crazy cat merchant! I want a pet cat following me around (or seven)! But that is something that can be added anywhere. Gladiator style fights in the Kvatch arena with giant lions? Sure! It could be a special mode where lions are released as the players are having their 1v1 duel.

This gets suggested in nearly every MMO with factions, and they never do it, because the potential for griefing outweighs and positive potential.

ugh. God. EVERY game should have gambling. That being said, It needs to be done in a way that can't be exploited.

I think the gold would have to be won from other players and not game generated. that way there can't be any staged fights in which players bet a million gold on one player and the other player takes a dive.

Well, there is a recent map of Tamriel in eso around the internet with the current zones and the already planned future ones, including Murkmire and Whrotgar, one of these zones in the map is the Colovian Highlands, soo there is a good chance we will se Kvatch in the future and maybe they will use the arena too, i'm all for new content

I love all of your ideas, OP. And the other ideas in this thread, brilliant stuff.

I especially would love to have dueling in this game, especially for RP purposes. Just let us dual anywhere on the map; have it be a player interact feature that the other party would have to accept before starting, to eliminate the possibility of being randomly attacked by someone.

Archery contests, horse racing and festivals also sound like a complete win. They could vary the festivals to coincide with other international holidays, but of course with lore-friendly Tamriel versions of them. In Elder Scrolls lore there's a bunch of cool holidays, it would be so much fun to see them implemented in this game as special events.

@ZOS_GinaBruno please pass this thread along to the devs, there's some wonderful ideas here. :P

As popular as the mini pvp events have been at the conventions, it wouldn't surprise me if ZOS does something like that in the future.

Oh and if you are going to have pubs, gambling and horse racing, you might as well have the black market for all the stolen goods once the Justice system is implemented.

That map of possible future zones makes me really excited. ESO has so much room to grow! Would also like to see more planes of oblivion to explore in addition to cold harbor. I want to go visit Uncle Sheo again in the Shivering Isles! Exploration and more things to do/see! But I digress. Of course, I hope the Colovian Highlands comes out soon.

A Black Market sounds cool. Maybe there could be a secret cave in the cliff under Kvatch where the market is set up?

Just got another idea. Perhaps a bard's guild could be here also, with a stage where players can perform plays (for role playing within a role playing game!) and music minigames.

I know the feels man. Replace "Kvatch" with just about anything and you have how I feel all the time in regards to ESO.

I know there's such a thing as unrealistic expectations because I have them in spades.

I like the general idea of having a festival zone.

This said, i feel its not right to use a DLC for this purpose. Festivals are usually embracing a feeling of closeness to one another and I really think everyone should be able to join.
