I dont think I'm honestly enjoying the game...

I've been wanting remake a character for a different class. But I always think about how long it will take to get to the place where my main is. This shouldnt really be happening, if I were honestly enjoying the game, this wouldnt be an issue. I took a break a while ago and came back but I'm getting burned out of the game again. Theres nothing holding me here. Normally I was excited to play Craglorn but I havnt even gotten there an I really dont care. In other TES games I couldnt wait. This game doesnt give me the same freedom. I cant be the ass**** like in other games and steal everything or just be a nuisance, I cant feel like a thief and rob people's houses while their out in the shop, and I cant kill that one NPC that annoys me. (I heard somewhere that thievery will be added at some point)

I really want to like ESO, I really do. But I just cant find any more reasons to keep playing. I just dont feel the same freedom here as I did compared to other TES games.

EDIT: I'm watching the video part showing off the Justice system. I;m actually kind of hype for that. Especially the bounty hunter part. I'll give ESO another shot.

    TLDR;

I don't enjoy ESO because I can't be bothered to learn new characters and skills, and it won't let me be a complete jackwagon and be a nuisance and kill and steal at will.

That pretty much sums it up. Can I have your stuff on the way out?

Instead of placing your foundation on trying a new class, instead place the emphasis on trying a new playstyle (not related to a Class). Anything from trying to play without Class Abilities (using only weapon/armor/guild/etc) to an exploratory playstyle (no map) to an Immersive playstyle that uses addons to remove most meta-information (quest trackers, markers, compass).

I forgot to mention that this community is arguably worse than League of Legends community. Why is everyone a "holier than thou" stuck up jerk? Secondly, its not learning the class holding me back, its the monotony of questing.

Calling everyone a jerk may have been unfair. There are some genuinely nice people. But there always seems to be one of them somewhere.

Roll a full slate. I have an army with only 1 mule, the other 7 have lives, well things they do, that are quite different from each other.

My lead is about to go VR1 and it's taken so long because I have purposely taken it slow. I'm pleased I did.

I have 2 complete crafters, they do, nothing else, and 5 fighters some of who craft a bit. I'm good with Red Witch, a Vampire Sorcerer and she is a great deal of fun. Right now I'm working on my Wood Elf NB, he Enchants as well and I've taken him on the road. He is very different and I'm learning how he works.

Anyway I keep it fresh by having a stack of different things to do and I sometimes don't really play for a few days, just log in to collect the mail from the hirelings.

No doubt, but the community as a whole has been pretty genuine if you ask me. The game itself based upon the guild construction doesn't really lend to as much loyalty and bonding as one guild systems and smaller servers rather than one world.

Still there are nice people everywhere, if you only focus on the malcontents you will be unhappy everywhere because they make the most noise and get an unfair share of the attention. In all games you have to block out the noise, it has always been thus and always shall be :-)

I hope you can find a game that you enjoy. I find the community of this game to be generally amazing. When I first started (recently), I was a bit put off by some weirdos in zone chat, but when I actually started talking to people I was blown away by how friendly everyone was. Even browsing some ESO forums like this one and the subreddit, the community has been amazing and helpful. It's honestly one of my favourite aspects of this game so far, since being new an inexperienced in other games can be treated as a mortal sin.

Anyway, perhaps you would be interested in the justice system when it's implemented and we will see you again.

I disagree with you quite fervently on the community, OP. ESO has one of the nicest, respectful, helpful communities that I've ever experienced in an MMO. There's always going to be a few trolls and jerks in the midst, but that happens in every game. You just have to ignore them and focus on the people who are kind.

That being said, maybe you would enjoy the game more if you didn't hurry to level up. In pretty much all MMOs (besides the few that hand-hold by giving you access to max level characters right off the bat), reaching max level is always a journey and generally isn't something you can do in a day or two. If you're anxious to get to end-game content then just keep focusing on the character you've already been working on and don't worry about playing alts just yet.

My main is about to hit vet 1 after about one month of playing this game. One month isn't that bad, especially considering that I don't play every day, and when I do I goof around and spend too much time idling in towns, roleplaying, or just wandering around looking for stuff I might have missed. If I had really tried to grind it out I would have been vet 1 a couple weeks ago probably.

If you really hate questing and it bores you to death, find some friends to quest with as perhaps it won't seem so monotonous if you have other people to run around with.

They're going to be adding a justice system in a future update, which will allow you to steal things and kill npcs. Little by little ESO will end up more akin to previous ES games.

You are aware that ESO is a MMO while other ES games are single player RPG's?

You are also aware that a MMO is never finnished/completed but a single player RPG is, yes?

I completely understand what you are saying. I'm playing vet level and the quests are really lackluster. I have been sneaking around and killing imperials more and more. Also, kind of tired of necromancy and undead. I want to see more quests that have better stories. I know that this game will most likely improve and add more things but right now I'm bored also. I have always pretty much wandered around randomly taking quests but I still seem to run into some that are dull such as: this family is poisoned by a snake, please take this antidote to them. The fetching quests are the worst. The quests from the lower levels seemed better.
Really makes me miss the fighter's guild and mage's guild quests. Hope they add more like them.

I know that. But basic stuff like the crime system shouldve been in the game at the start I feel. Using the "its an MMO" excuse can only get you so far. Stuff like player housing shouldve been in the game on day one.

This game is not alt-friendly. There just isn't enough diversity- you have to repeat the same quests you've already done, in a different order at best. I enjoyed questing on my main but I struggle to find the motivation to level alts too.

Op I feel your pain...it's just to boring and has no real attraction....it's not like you can go kill a boss and get some awesome loot...it's not like you are surrounded by players happy to team up with randoms...I'm holding out until destiny releases....When teso comes to consoles I might join in with some friends...but yeah ignore all the flamers and fan boys....The game just fell short of expectations and zenimax does everything wrong....they fix 1 thing and 2 things go wrong...they totally missed what makes e's and MMO's fun....I think trying to give a little of everything to everyone made them miss the bigger picture....since leveling is exactly the same for everyone and every faction...it sucks...I don't want to be the hero of the AD only to kill them later....poor design poor rewards and a world of future promises...but hey some people will defend playing since they are paying...but the truth is in the numbers...and nd eso has been on a decline, even the 1/2 off steam version is not even in top 10 or 20 games played. The good news is the next eso game can't be this bad....unless zenimax makes it again.

I was blown away by this community then i first started playing, there is a big number of guilds that will take us newcomers in. And i have only met nice people so far. Someone even gave me some crafting material for free, so i could start crafting.

It's those kind of people that will make me help others where i can, because i have gotten such an amazing treatment.

LOL, has one of the worst communities i have ever encountered. It's so flooded by nerd rage.

World of warcraft doesn't exactly have the nicest community neither.

But yeah leveling takes time, and in my opinion it's what that makes the game fun for me. Put myself into the stories, and quests. Meeting new NPC's.

So far my favorite is the AD :p

That does not mean i fanatically defends the game

Another thing I would add is take a break and come back later. I know I have been going through a bit of an emotional slump lately (health issues) and finding most games to be uninteresting and boring. I expect with time I will get back into the swing of things and enjoy ESO as much as I did before.

The former titles besides the sloppy ShyRim, had more immersion when it came to acquiring skills, that we had to find out where to get the training needed usually followed by a quest, an element dearly forgotten. It feels hollow to chose from a list just because the character have reached XX level in a skill line and kills the immersion.

Nah all humans are jerks, its merely the perspective that gives a positive or negative outcome. At least if all are viewed as jerks, you'll always be pleasantly surprised if they are not. Intended sarcasm applied.

aH so that's why single player games over the last decades have been had one after another patch added, not to say in recent times, been overdone with DLC content. I see....

No, the reason why the "its an MMO" excuse can be used is because if the game launched with Player owned housing and the justice system they wouldn't be able to attract more people into the game as it progressed. If ESO launched with all the updates it would get for the year to come, there would be no updates, just bug fixes. how is that going to hold a crowd and attract more people into the game?
