I have heard about champion levels replaicing Veteran levels but what exactly are champion levels?

Of this, i have not seen much info anywhere. in worst case it is just a name change with some minor cosmetic tweaks until something more is revealed.

Search on these forums or google the TESO Quakecon dev talks - very insightful and have literally the latest statements of actual plans from Paul Sages' mouth and the other staff devs concerning all upcoming changes including this new Champion System thats coming in later this year.

    Thanks for this :)

Getting a champion passive skills is equal to *** for me if i have to still do quests for other faction instead of my own, this should be option but not necessity. There has to be a way to gain VR levels by doing your factions stuff on other factions areas. Passive skills are boring story vise, doing stuff that matters in characters and factions point of wiev matters.

I for one, am hoping that some expansion opens the missing lands between factional areqas as neutra or something that we go through to do quests for our own faction in enemy territory.

Eventually all areas should be connected rogether so you can ride from southern Tamriel to Northern, from east to south and like that. Leveling process is made quite a bit faster so you can get rid of leveling and gain abilities and skills from Skyshards and using our equipment. When leveling is done, you could do whatever you want instead of tunnel grind from 1 to 50 and then the VR stuff.

From watching the Quakecon stuff. If I understand it correctly.(and correct me if I'm wrong) VR lvs will be done away with and, replaced with the Champion System. Now, I'm not sure if will we will still have VR lv's or it will just become lv 50-62?
You will no longer get VR points. It will all be exp. As you get exp you will acquire Champion points with can be spent on special passive skills for your characters. Kind of like the alternate advancement points in the Everquest games if you ever played those.
Nowhere did they say they were going to scrap the way you have to earn the exp/champion points. Which means you are still going to have to do the other faction quest lnes, Craglorn,Pvp etc.

There is still alot of confusion about that and honestly the developers don't even seem to know yet. One quote from Paul Sage saying that Vet ranks aren't going anywhere, another from Nick Konkle saying that Vet ranks won't be replaced because there would be an outrage if everyone got nerfed, then another one from Jessica saying that Vet ranks will be replaced. So they are contradicting themselves at this point. The only thing we know for sure is that the VR system (current xp system for lvl 50+) is going back to normal XP and we will be getting points every certain amount of XP to spend on passive champion abilities.

There will still have to be some kind of definition between a fresh lvl 50 and someone that has the gear and champion points to handle endgame. Right now it's VR1-12. Which may or may not still be the +50 lvl system, just add champion points.

Honestly I think your idea of just raising the lvl cap to 62 is the way to go. But then again, lvls 50-62 would still feel like a grind. But at least it wouldn't be so shocking to a fresh 50.

Best bet is to just go in and grab all the skyshards from the other zones, clear the world bosses and dungeons, then grind craiglorn, or find a quest group in craiglorn. There are also VR dungeons and what not to do as well. VR is what you make it out to be but I really do recommend you go grab all the skyshards at a bare minimum if you don't want to do the other factions stuff.

Well, as it stands right now there are zero plans to negate or take away doing the additional two factions of what is called VR content.

Unless or until official word is released, we know there is a new Champion system which will allow for 'perks' via points put in that will enable your character to be more effective. The more e x p you have, the longer you've played, the more you play, the more of those Champion points you will have access to.

It is a deepening of character effectiveness, another or additional 'plus' we will have for our Veteran characters in the higher levels. As of currently, we will still be playing through the circuit of the additional two faction zones, or utilizing what some people now do and just attempting to grind e x p until they hit the point at which they can go to PvE Trials or head over to join a more competitive PvP experience once they've accrued the e x p they need for being more effective in Cyr.

Champion levels are more from MMO perspective than TES. While this may be considered as character evolution and progression, it really does not feel to me much of a deepening my character. To get it feel like TES there has to be option in the future to continue questing for your own factions favor.

Grindzones like Craglorn as alternative does not work for story progression, getting skills is just a performance boost which sadly means litle to me.

I do hope these new features please other people but i know they wont please me. Only thing that satisfies my character progression is extending the story of your faction to enemy territories doing small favors or aiding your faction in war effort (Or peace effort).
