Well the way things are going, it seems ZOS allows people to acquire the old "OP" sets when new "more Op/harder to get" sets are put into the game (which to me sounds like what they said about season armor in Quakecon) at the same time, trial difficulty has decreased with the new changes making it more accessible to people who aren't staff users so I don't think ZOS is forgetting players who want to you guys and they have said that the fact that the Hard Mode gear (which is same as the normal mode gear with some better stats) is BOE is a bug.

So yeah, it seems there will always be some op gear you can't buy at some point. As for "ruining the game", it wouldn't have ruined it if the set pieces had been BOE since the beginning. I can understand that people that had to do 50 AA runs just to get their 5 pieces of Aether set while dropping useless (for them) unsellable yokeda items are mad that not only now anyone with 150k gold will be able to get full stuff in a couple of hours, but also that all the 40 set pieces they dropped are still bound and unsellable: useless, making the whole process a big waste of time for a reward anyone can get.

Just so everyone knows this is a bug and will be fixed with todays patch, or at least attempt to be fixed.

It specified hard trial drops, it mentioning nothing of 'normal' mode trial drops.

Is this thread still going? You tell me that I and the rest of the intellectual side of these forums have been shooting down all the lame arguments from the "I wanna buy raid epixxx for gold"-crowd all in vain? Thats so sad! =(

no we just stopped giving a damn because they said its a bug. The current state of the game is proof of what we were saying though I'm not getting anyone to join my off night pugs because, and I quote, "what is the point of going if I can just buy this stuff"

Accidents happen as long as this isn't there design philosophy in the future (which it isn't) this will just serve as another example to why BoE raid loot is dumb.

Ah, thats somewhat a relief to hear. Actually thought game went bananas for real for a while there. BoE raid loot, what would have been next, rent a gold bot in ESO store? ^^

Well if you take into consideration that Hard mode Gear is barely better than Normal mode and that Normal mode gear can still be sold.... Still sounds pretty bad to me...

Oh well as long as people keep buying Aether set pieces 70K a pop...

So, the Trial gear is already on the market. people are selling toons of items in Craglorn and in guild stores.

If its a bug, why Zenimax does not stop this madness? Its spreading like a plague.

I have yet to understand the Op. Sigh umm do not equip it. hmm this is a option so u can sell it? So confused basically either equip it or sell it so BOE should not be a problem yes. Meh oh wells. this topic got way off track XD.

What bothers me just as much as this BoE nonsense is that I spent months farming 7 pieces of Aether and upgrading them to legendary and now all of a sudden without any discussion or announcement in patchnotes ALL trial drops have slightly better stats on top of being BoE. I'm not even certain that the hardmode drops are different from the normal mode drops at the moment as that would essentially mean 3 different tiers of Aether gear in existence:

- the legacy stuff that I spent months farming which now has shittier stats (even in legendary) than the stuff that people can buy now

- the normal mode drops (better stats than the old BoP gear)

- the hard mode drops (even better stats??? I dont know)

My suspicion is that ZoS F'd up and made the upgraded versions that were supposed to only drop in hardmode also drop in normal mode. So far I've only seen 2 versions of the gear even in the posts by players that completed the the hardmodes.

Does anyone have a definite answer to my speculations? Are there 2 or 3 versions of Aether?

I haven't noticed this because we have been pushing hard modes. You are saying normal modes drop hard mode gear now? Sounds like a Fup all around by zos.

Yes, I'm suspecting that normal mode drops and hardmode drops are the same. Unless they added 2 new tiers of gear. I haven't been able to clear the hardmodes yet, only got both bosses to the enrage phase. But I did do some regular mode farming and noticed that the stats on those were better than on my old legendary BoP stuff. The normal mode drops also looked exactly the same as the stuff posted by DaFunk on reddit after clearing hardmode AA. So yea, my suspicion is that the drops are the same but until I can clear the hardmodes (hopefully this weekend) it remains a suspicion since I dont have the hardmode drops to compare.

Either way, this shouldn't have happened. Clearing this content should give you a reward that isn't accessible to anyone with a purse $:\$

So many special people.
You want unique exceptional armour...make it (then no one has anything like you).
I guess you'll want trials to have their very own unique armour set next.

When I do these trials, I want to deconstruct them for parts, or sell them, or give them away. I dont think I can take those pixels with me when I finally kick the bucket. Although I guess many of you want to by the sounds of it.
