Every game that is online or any multiplayer of this day and age should have voice chat automatic. I should not have to use outside sources and have to pay an extra subscription to have this in games. Grouping and raiding highly demands voice chat for things to run smoothly without it things are difficult especially when things don't go as planned and you need some quick communication. Trying to fight and type at the same time is impossible. Please add voice chat to the game so I can come back to this game that I truly love.

Teamspeak, Skype, Mumble. You and your friends should use one of these programs. :)

I don't think any of the vaguely recent MMOs i've played had built in voice chat.

Oh i think Star wars galaxies had it. Never used it though.

Agree with all 4 of the responses. Why would ZOS (or any game dev) devote time, effort, and cost to develop an internal voice chat system when there are already much better options available? Plus, most of the options listed are free to use.

There are half a dozen totally free Teamspeak programms/servers out there. If you cannot find enough, you have not even started to look.
Only game I know of with builtin voice is Star Trek Online.

Aside from PuG's the external programms are better in every case anyway. It is unrelated to the game crashing, lagging or hanging, your teamspeak session persiste between games, etc.

Note that despite ingame Voice not being strictly nessesary for a PC MMO, there are signs they are developing Voice Support anyway (and have been since 1.3 PTS times).
The primary target is propably the console (where chat does not work that well), but I think the will release it for PC too.
Elana Peterson (EU), Dominion, Imperial Sorc, Rune & Alchemy Crafting Char
Leonida Peterson (EU), Daggerfall, Kajiit Nightblade, Tank & main Crafter
Kurga Peterson (EU), Ebonhart, Ork Dragonknight, Provision Mule
Coldblood Peterson (EU) Argonian Templer, Daggerfall, Healer
Incendia Peterson (EU), Dominion, Dunmer Dragonknight, fire DPS & healer
Haldor Belendor (EU), Ebonhart, Breton Sorcerer, Tank
Fuliminictus Peterson (EU), Ebonhart, Altmer Sorcerer, Electric DPS

Me babbling about PvE roles and Armor, Short Guide to Addon Programming (for Programmers)

I was thinking about this yesterday, it would be a great addition and nothing keeps TESO from having a partnership with Teamspeak or Raidcall.

I bet those companies would LOVE to work with a game developer with dedicated servers to implement a voice system in the game or even implement some kind of compatibility to "link a ts server to a group" so that people don't have to manually Alt-Tab & connect to it.

    2 late for TESO though..

Lotro has built in voice chat. Its clunky and unwieldy and most serious raid kinships prefer the much smoother and easier alternatives that can be acquired free with a bit of searching, but its there nonetheless. It would be good if ESO had a proper genuine voice chat function just to show it has one, but it would have to be very good and not prone to breaking, and Zenimax's track record is not very promising in that regard unfortunately.

Oh, also, a classic game by the name of EverQuest 2 did voice chat very well. Allowing multi purpose functionality to its in game voice chat so you could be connected to groups for raid stuff or connected to your whole entire guild via teamspeak. Bah, I miss that game but my sub ended, and seriously having more than one subscription going when I was not even playing it anymore [been playing this or lotro instead] was just too much. Still, ESO could learn a lot from EQ2

That's where I am used to using voice chat from Requiemslove. Everquest 2 automatically comes with voice chat in the game and is very well done. Easy to swap from guild chat or group chat or private channels in game without worrying about an outside program. Figure if a game that is 10 years old like EQ2 could have it, all games being put out now should have it.

That sucks, I hate voice chat. I really hope it stays on the consoles and the consoles does not screw up the PC version.
