EU Server lag is insane

Yesterday, when the guild functions where finally back online, we decided to hit pvp, particularly we went to help some friends in Thornblade campaign.

My guild mates are based in Finland, UK, Poland, Germany, Sweden and Norway and we get very good ping (resource monitor shows 15ms latency for me).

But yesterday was very frustrating, constantly getting messages in the top right corner of the screen "you can not swap weapons now" and "you can not do that while dead" 2-3 seconds before my character goes down.

Could not use potions when my character needed, despite spamming the Q key over and over. The same applies to ultimates and various skills, they would just not activate when i wanted them to.

At first i thought it was me, but then when in a group of 24 players and the vast majority of them were also suffering the same issues (in teamspeak and ingame group/guild chat), it is apparent that there is some serious lag issues and non responsiveness in pvp. Some even reported getting hit from invisible players/spells/abilities. I can confirm one thing, my character went down at one point so fast, and death recap shows 4 crystal fragments hitting him. Yet in game, on screen, i was never knocked down, frozen in place, or even got hit. It was on my screen down from 2,700+ health to instant death in a second.

We all turned down our video settings to medium, we all closed all background programs that "Hog" bandwidth, no effect. 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 2 is it fine, some noticeable lag but its fine, but once you face 3+ enemies on screen, it starts acting up.

PVE works almost flawlessly, yes some hic-cups in gameplay, some minor animation bugs and slight lag from time to time, but much much better than pvp.

Anyone else getting any kind of issues in pvp on EU server?

Note: For those of you that will point fingers and say "its not the game, it is your system", i am ready to undertake any performance or stress test you wish and post the results or link them.

US and EU megaserver have lagged heavily in PVP since early beta (we're talking January). You get server side lag, unfortunately.

Yes, lag has been awful but particularly since the EU server moved to Europe. Since the latest patch most people seem to be getting the problems you describe along with other bugs and issues. Lots of people are getting lags and crashes due to a memory leak which gradually creeps ram usage up to a point where your game falls over. We had it before and they fixed it but it seems like its back with a vengeance. Hopefully they will acknowledge these issues and fix them soon.

This. Yesterday i was 9 hours non stop in Cyro, some big fights, sieges with many players from all 3 alliances, not even bit of lag, nothing, no weapon problems or pot as described by OP. I guess you guys having more problems because of amount of players there, not server itself.
Sad to hear those problems exists for you, hope it will get fixed. But smaller campaign=better. And you in within second, not 298th in line.

Not to mention there are less impulse trains. Whenever two of these trains collide the server slows to a stand still!

Very true, during yesterday time in Cyro i have only noticed small AD group running with impulses, but it was maybe 8 people only. Looks like there is much more smaller groups, we had really good fights like 5v5 or 10v10 in many places.
Only when EP started to loosing keeps they get bigger group(nothing wrong with it) but it was still far better then AB earlier.

Still it needs a bit more DC, and a lot of AD(only seen mentioned small but decent group), and we will have great campaign. Glad impulse kids are not here ;)

Don't worry, EP are taking care of that "problem".

It is server side, some of these systems we use can handle 100x or more, problem is the server seem to be a bottleneck or maybe running on a couple of old 56KBaud Modems to save cost or something :p

ZoS, you do not have to feed like 20 servers, only two megaservers, learn from Companies like CCP that run a megaserver for EvE Online, and that server handle up to 2000 v 2000 from time to time and still very much playable at that state.

This more smooth things run, this more forgiving people would be as well towards other issues... that they know would be fixed.

Should take a closer look then. When EP started to loosing keeps after we finally got some reinforcements about 8 PM, and they could not outnumber us anymore(EP locked DC on 2 bars like all day), they instantly created ''Big Red Lolbus'':40 nuubs with 1 brain cell each, and 1 skill on bar. And another smaller one a bit later.
Pathetic, yea, but it is EP ,so we are all used to it.My biggest mistake in ESO:i started to think about EP as ''skilled and fair players''. Big fat LOL on me...

Guildie: so that is yours balanced campaign then, same crap as Auriels, just less AD. At least they have brains to avoid it...

thats a pretty bitter whine there, blaming one faction for blobbing. ... ALL factions do it to some extent. tonight on chillrend it was AD who were the only ones i seen blobbing .. but i,m sure depending where you are you would see all 3 factions doing it.

its still much less blobby than aureils was by a mile
