Guilds still worthless after being 'fixed'

A gold sink bothers me less than one person exploiting the rest of the guild members for money. But true, if nothing else, this new structure prompts all of us to be more active in our guilds if we care where that money is going.

It's good to know we can see what's added/subtracted as part of the history. It would be nice though to have a separate tab with longer retention for guild gold history, for those of us who aren't in game all the time and don't always want to have to ask where the money went.

I do believe a lot of guild leaders are acting in their guild's best interests. I'd like to be able to verify it, though.

The current cutoff is way too short. 24 hours i believe? I'd like to be able to go further back than that ...

same with bank withdraws and deposits. It's very easy to strip a bank undetected if no one is paying attention.

7 days should be at least visible.

Not sure why you brought up WoW. The Guild system here is the same as WoW in regards to the Bank and Guild Gold earned. The Guild leader always has the choice to keep Guild Bank space and Gold to herself if she wants.

Why not start your own Guild?

    It's not the same...

in wow a % from all kills went to guild bank.
in wow we had Tabs with set permissions for each tab which made the guild bank usable to all members, in ESO The only way a guild bank system actually works is if the guild creates multiple sister guilds and uses the other guild banks for valuable items and leave the basic guild bank for crap items in an open crapshoot where you have to trust some scrub wont take everything (happens quite often)

I hate using wow as a comparison, besides the fact that is has some truly awful features, it is an established, fully developed game.

Anecdotally, it seems a significant number of trade guilds advertising for members allow use of the guild store, and access to withdraw from the guild bank is limited to the guild leader and sometimes one or two co leaders. Basically the guild bank functions as the guild leader's own private stash in many trade guilds.

I was okay with this behavior before the patch because the stores gave me great access to buy and sell goods. But now that a cut of all of my sales goes into what is basically the guild leader's private bank, I'm not so comfortable with that.

Can we see what's happening to the guild funds in the history? If guild leaders are using the funds to bid on kiosks, that's okay with me. If the guild leaders are withdrawing all the funds for themselves, I'll be looking for some new trade guilds and hope others will do the same.

Anything that can be exploited in this game is, and I hope Zeni takes some of the good suggestions from players regarding daily limits and different withdrawal tiers seriously.

That is a really good point. I'm in 3 trading guilds and there is basically no access to the guild bank in any of them. Prior to this patch it wasn't a huge deal because I was able to buy/sell items but with the current change..why should a portion of my sales go to the trading guild of which I have very limited access and benefit from? Aside from a potential kiosk cost it's not like there is some huge overhead that they need gold to maintain. Is the intention really to just enrich the trading guild leaders? That is ludicrous.

If this game had the traditional guild setup (just 1 guild per person/account) it would make more sense because there would be a vested interest in that one guild and the taxed funds would ostensibly be going to improve said guild. If the guild leader didn't use the funds in a way that you approved of or otherwise return the funds to the members in some way you can just find a new guild that is more inline with your expectations.

How is this intended to work in 3 or 4 trading guilds where you generally don't have a relationship with anyone other than buying/selling and the money collected in taxes is not returned to the members in any meaningful or useful way? This kind of gets back to the base problem of a multi-guild system because there is really no way to have a meaningful guild system if your attention/resources/loyalty/time is divided up between multiple guilds with competing interests and events. Bleh.

Dare I mention how much I absolutely LOATHE having all my characters forced into each and every guild? Why the heck are guilds account wide? I have characters in each faction, and forcing them into a guild that resides in a different faction is a waste of time.

Also maybe I don't want some of my characters in a guild, I may not want my 'evil nightblade' 's name known to anyone else, just because my other character is in the guild.

If you think guilds are fine with the "all or nothing" approach to the bank, then you're likely either a guild leader who wants free inventory/gold, or someone who wants to be able to take everything at will.

Between the choice of "join a guild and have no bank access" or "join a guild that can easily have the entire bank stolen from", neither option is a good one.

Isn't it amazing how certain people are struggling to understand this point and think the current status quo is acceptable. It's kind of mind boggling that people would accept this half arsed system and even react defensively when someone offers a clearly superior suggestion to fix it.
