Hello everyone, I always wanted to know how many players are logged in within a zone/cyrodiil campaign phase but I never could see the actual number of players/number of players+their names because such an option doesn't exist.
I believe such an option will be very informative and useful.
In my opinion, adding a chat command like /players or /population or something else which shows such information can be great.
I think this kind of information is intriguing to many, so I believe a poll is required to indicate if there is a need for such option.
Please share your thoughts if Zenimax should introduce such chat command or not :)

Yes! Add a chat command which shows how many players are logged in within a zone, but only state a number.

Yes! Add a chat command which shows how many players are logged in within a zone by a number and their names.
I used this command all the time in EQ2 when trying to set up open world raids, dungeon runs, or anything that required groups.

I think that it would also help out some of the people just getting to the zones and wanting to do dolmens, world bosses, quests, etc.

The only downsides that I can think of is people getting whispered all the time for help and possibly some stalking like someone posted about earlier this week.

I don't know how the justice system is supposed to work, but this could be an issue if it makes someone easy to track.

If I understand the "megaserver" concept correctly.... Aren't we layered? If so then I think what you may really want to know is how many people are on your layer. I definitly could be wrong though with my understanding...... There is a lot I do not understand how the Devs think here.

A privacy setting which will drop the names of the players who don't want to be visible to the command can be added.
The player can choose to trigger privacy on or off.

It is unknown how exactly the mega server works.
If I understand the concept of the mega server correctly, there are many phases of the same zone.
So by using the chat command I have suggested an actual number of players/number of players+their names logged in within the zone phase will be shown.
A phase can hold hundreds or thousands of people, so knowing the number will be useful for multiple purposes, such as grouping in Cyrodiil, raiding dolmens/dungeons/guild recruitment/quests/ world bosses etc.
The number of players logged in within all phases of the same zone may also be useful because it's informative and show perspectives of the game itself.

I have no interest in this.
