Seriously, the fix was a pile of steamy guar droppings. Without bank tabs and assignable ones at that per rank, the whole guild bank is nothing to the membership. The leader wont turn it on for everyone to use because some moron will steal everything out of it. That makes sense and I understand that part. Unfortunately this means the leader gets to enjoy having a 500 slot bank all to himself, which was the case in all 9 guilds we were in. On top of that, the guild bank is re auto-repository for all the taxes paid for the things we sell in the guild store, so again, only the leader gets to enjoy the rewards of the free gold pouring into the guild bank that only he can access.
I don't need the guild store to sell things, I just do like everyone else and hawk my wares in open zone chat. If I don't need the store, cant use the bank, don't benefit from the taxes im paying, what the heck do I need a guild for? a glorified chatroom??
Yeah, not buying into this BS. I'll try guilds again when they are worthy of being a member. (ZOS - Get a clue and go play WOW or many other games, then re-fix guilds again)
Ask not what you can do for your guild, but what your guild can do for you?
Not true at all. WoW has many bank tabs, which can be assigned per member level, also withdrawl limits, also assignable per level and rank. Those things mean there is control over the guild bank and no one can just wipe out everything. (unless of course you just gave them access to everything and they are not trustworthy)sfradenb14_ESO wrote: »So There are two accounts in my house, and we belonged to a total of 9 different guilds (1 was in common between us) In each guild after the patch, no one had bank access. Not sure why you brought up WoW. The Guild system here is the same as WoW in regards to the Bank and Guild Gold earned. The Guild leader always has the choice to keep Guild Bank space and Gold to herself if she wants.
Why not start your own Guild?

Peer into the shadows and meet our newest featured guild, the Fairy Fartwads, INC. !
If you have a predilection for mediocre and worthlessness as a group, you have found a new home!
Do you want to see your guild featured in an upcoming spotlight? Post your answers to our interview questions in this thread. Don’t forget to include some screenshots so we can show you off in your full glory!
What is your guild’s name? Does that name have a special history or significance?
The name of our guild is “Fairy Fartwads Inc"... FFi has nothing special behind it, we live to grief and gank others in Cryodiil. When you get murdered by our overpowered group, you will forever know you were killed by a Fairy...
When was your guild formed? Tell us the story of how the guild came to be.
I made this guild on day 1, brought over a bunch of us from World of Warcraft. We merely wanted to gather enough people to open our bank and auction house. Since there is nothing else we can do with the guild its essentially just a giant chatroom. All of us that formed the guild have turned off the chatroom, as we have no interest in the members or their idle chitchat.
What alliance has your guild sworn fealty to?
Not sure, does it matter? We really don't care much about it.
Why did you choose that alliance?
Choose what alliance? We just made a guild of convenience.
How many members does your guild currently have?
We have.... uh..... 92 members. No wait, 91 now. We will have more, just gotta go do more drive-by guild requests and spam a bit more.
Does your guild have a website?
No. Should we? No one ever uses them unless the guild forces you to sign up on it, then you only use it once to sign up and forget it exists.
What times and days is the guild most active?
I have no idea. I know I am active on weekends and after work. So I guess the answer is weekend and after work.
What countries do your members span?
New Jersey, and I got a buddy in Maryland I think.
What activities in ESO do your members enjoy doing together the most?
Me and my buds get together in that PvP place every Saturday, and roam around as a pack picking off small, underleveled groups and singles. Its fun to make them cry, and John figured out a way to use emotes to kinda teabag the people we kill, that really pisses them off.
What makes your guild unique?
Uh, we all wear pants?
Does your guild ever host special events? If so, tell us about them!
Why should we hold special events when ESO does not hold special events.
What is your favorite or most memorable moment as a guild so far in ESO?
There was this kid we killed, he thought he was the shiznit, but we tought him a lesson fast. He had the balls to return and charge us with a few of his friends, figuring he would get the jump on us. Did not happen. After a short battle, his little party was dead at our feet. He actually accused us of hacking or something and reported us, or so he said. You don't have to hack a game that's this easy to play, and at least that's one thing we never do.
Does your guild secretly (or not so secretly) follow a specific Daedric Prince? If so, which one?
I thought we were supposed to kill them, not worship them. Still either way, this is a game and no, no one bothers to follow a made-up entity.
After a long day of adventuring, where does your guild enjoy gathering to wind down?
Errr... You mean after a long day sitting on my butt in front of the computer? Dude, after several hours of play I don't need to wind down, I need to get up and take a walk, go outside and be active again. My rear gets flat and I get leg cramps from sitting too long.
Tell us five fun facts about your guild!
1. We cant fall below 10 members because I'll lose my access to the guild bank. I love having a 500 space bank all to myself.
2. um. Its a guild, were the best....
3. We don't kill bunnies.
If people are interested in joining your guild, who should they contact?
They can contact me, or better yet, just hang in a city for 5 minutes and we will randomly invite you to our guild.

And what a selfish way to think of guilds. A guild isn't there to provide you with extra bank space. If that's all you're using them for, then every game's guild system is going to be terrible for you.

There was no 'bug' with ranks, never was. The fact is what they fixed was actually added, they never had functionality to add or change ranks in the first place. So it was not a real fix for a bug, but adding and creating new code to implement a function that was never there in the first place. If your gonna reply at least get it right.
Who the hell said I wanted extra bank space? Hmmm... I never said that in any of my posts, in fact your making an assumption about me, and you know what they say about assuming things...
My point is that only the leader gets to use the bank as a personal 500 slot bank, and that's not what a guild bank should be for. Also since my taxes are auto-paid into the guild bank that only the leader has access to, im funding the leaders wallet through my hard work and getting nothing in return.
I guess i'll have to spell it out for you: Guild banks should serve the guild, IMHO there should be one public slot where people can dump objects they do not want, resources, pots, etc for others to use. A lot of people are more than happy to donate stuff to other guildies, and if your guild is comprised of decent folk (meaning your not just randomly inviting people in town) then you rarely have issues with theft of the one public bank tab. The other tabs are set up for other things, crafting items, armors, higher level stuffs. Sometimes theres an area set up for raiding items. All in all the end result is the guild bank actually benefits the guild as a whole, not just a single person.

I'm not sure why you are blaming ZOS for being in poor guilds with poor management and leadership. You are just a whiner.... plain and simple.
There is a simple fix for the fact that you cannot create tab specific access rights:
Have 2 different guilds setup 1 for your dedicated crafters where all valuable resources are put into and where only officers and guild crafters have access and 1 where everyone of your guild has access to in order to dump crap into that they don't want/need which may be of use to other guildies.
My guild did it that way and we never had any issues and our members are happy the way it is handled.

Because there is no safeguards with the guild bank here, no one but the leader has access to it, thus every guild grants the leader a private 500 slot bank for his personal use.

None of the guilds I was in had poor leadership or management. All of them had *NO* leadership whatsoever. Only one guild at all had something decent going on and we are still in it. (as a side note that one guild that is active and does things together still does not allow bank access to anyone except the leader)
Point is that ZOS has yet to offer the right combination of guild controls to allow guilds to operate smoothly and with a lot of options. Currently there is no point in even having a guild bank system at all; it only benefits the leader.

That is not true at all. The Guild I am in, some members have Bank access, some don't. Depending on rank. 'kassandratheclericb14_ESO wrote: »

There is, the OP didn't bother looking into it before he hair-flipped and left all his Guilds. You may assign Ranks, and within those Ranks there are lots of options for what a member can and can't do.

It only benefits the leader if the guild leader denies access to the whole guild. And again, you're blaming the game design for your poor choice in guilds. In what way is that ZO's fault? And what do you propose they do about it?

I was okay with this behavior before the patch because the stores gave me great access to buy and sell goods. But now that a cut of all of my sales goes into what is basically the guild leader's private bank, I'm not so comfortable with that.

Can we see what's happening to the guild funds in the history? If guild leaders are using the funds to bid on kiosks, that's okay with me. If the guild leaders are withdrawing all the funds for themselves, I'll be looking for some new trade guilds and hope others will do the same.

That was one of the reasons I found very wrong with the whole design. I've been in guilds where donations were suggested but not required since making coin was very easy (it still sort of is in this game, but the sink levels are HUGE). Now with this it's forced, and we really have no say in the matter beyond leaving, and that means not even being able to get what little utility we DO have from the guild. The way it's designed now, it's really only for ONE guy to benefit from, everyone else is being exploited.
Now that's fine if we are playing a game that's supposed to treat all players beyond a few favored as slaves, but that won't be fun for the majority. This really should be changed, because it would make the most players happy if there was an actual Auction House. Only a small percentage of players don't want that kind of competition or easy price comparison.
