Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Woo-hoo, my Nord Templar can actually solo stuff again!!!

Up to now I had to either sneak around and take huge detours, or hope for a Dragonknight or Sorcerer to come by so I could 'tag along' to avoid certain death... Now, nine out of ten times my heavy-armoured Nord Templar can even take on three mobs at a time and survive (albeit with liberal use of potions and self-heals). The difference some fixed passives can do, huh?? Thanks heaps, Zenimax!!!

i love my templar alt it has beaten all the mainstorys missions all quest where my main DK would have suffer multiple deads in 1 pass while having 9 of the 10 times 0 armor grade.

but templar with heavy armor? i find light armor working better also for the magicka passives, basicly i use explosive charge, puncturing sweep and can choice to use crescent sweep ulti to finish off the low healths. works every time.

and in case a battle is still though i switch bar for a self heal
Pain and Dead are the cost to the enjoyment of Battle

Funny thing is, I didn't even realise the passive was broken until I saw it in the patch notes on the PTS just prior to release.. :\ I had respecced my Nord Templar to be mostly just a crafting character, leaving very few skillpoints in anything to do with combat. I thought that was the problem.. But maybe I'll give it a go again, see what happens. :)
When Alyennnah is not here, she's probably crafting. Quite possibly at Alyennah's Crafting in Wayrest. Or maybe she's out there, looking for new materials, recipes and styles to use in crafting. She wants to craft all the things.

I can finally solo craglorn 6-pack trash mob now.

I think increased cap on magicka/health/regen helped greatly, it increased my spell damage and number of fire ring I can cast.

No comment on the rest, but 12 percent is a big deal.... Heard of the bug ages ago though.

(12 because it is going from 1.06x taken to 0.94x damage incoming).
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

*Happy for your excitement over being able now to take care of some content you couldn't before!

*Rolls eyes at ZOS for crapping on what should be challenging, engaging, fun GROUPING content with good rewards and bonus e x p. Just a waste.

Uh, even before the nerf to vr content mobs when lots of players regardless of class was seen avoiding groups of 3's I've seen temps with that light sabre tear apart groups.
I'm no templar thou so I can't really give the best advice, but it really sounds like you've been doing something really wrong.

My templar has been soloing since I created him about a month and a half ago. I even soloed most of the v1 content butt naked because I didn't get to the veteran zones until Zenimax nerfed them and they are so easy now that I don't need armor and it's just more profitable when I don't need to pay for armor repairs. The game actually feels slightly challenging when I'm soloing mobs naked too, since mobs actually hurt when they hit you while your armor rating is 0, but even then I'm barely putting any effort in. When I equip my armor, the mobs in the v1 zones might as well not be hitting me at all.

Seriously, I can't figure out how other templars are having any trouble at all with this game. Haven't made it to Craglorn yet, but here's to hoping Zenimax doesn't nerf that area too before I get to experience some of this "challenge" i keep hearing people talk about.

I only played Templar so far , i`m now V1, i`ve killed molag bal and did every quests i came accross and i never felt like my templar was broken. I love my character .

Also, i did everything solo, i accepted group invites only twice and it wasn`t because i needed it . It was only because it felt logicle to group with people who are running the same public dungeon as i am .

I`m wearing full heavy armor and i use a great sword as my main weapon and a bow as my secondary and i kick ass like there is no tommorow. And i pretty much always pull 3 mobs or more at once . I can also clear dark anchors on my own if i`m about 4-5 lvls higher than the mobs. Something i`m sure pretty much everyone else can do but still.

I have no idea how i would fair in PVP because i haven`t been in Cyrodiil yet but i will find out soon .

Anyways , all of this to say that Templars were never broken . Maybe it was your build that wasn`t quite hitting the mark.
Be who you want to be , do what you want to do, play the way you want to play.

The Prophet once said :``There is no perfect choice , there are only other choices. ``

Same goes for your build. There is no perfect build, there are only other builds.

My name is Draxuul and i approve this message .

I have played a Medium Armor Templar (Tanklar = Heal/Tank Templar) with Mace & Shield + Restoration Staff since early access and never ever have I felt weak or unable to do content. Personally I think Templar is a great choice for a solo player since you have access to the best heals in the game. Sure you won't be the best DPS, but you can solo most similar level world bosses with a little tactical playing.
Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

For those of you using a 1h/shield on your templars, what weapon skill is best for damage? Shield bash, low slash, or ransack?

I soloed the old harder VR with a Heavy armor Templar sword and shield. i'm now VR 12

My general Setup since level 50
    low slash
    Extended ritual
    honor the dead
    blazing spear
    radiant aura

Ulti varies, but I usually use empowring sweep for soloing.

I basically just stand there blocking and throwing down blazing spear, ritual and radiant aura. With 3 or less I also use low slash a lot.

Hist bark armor is also really helpful, but I didn't add that till VR7

I am a tank set up and have lots of sta and block reduction glyphs though... also an orc. Your mileage may vary.

Not changed my build at all, same skillbar, everything, so I am fairly certain the fixed passives did the trick here. I don't think Three Nights of playing LoTRO instead of ESO made me a THAT much better player :P

LoL fromtesonlineb16 -- players DEFINITELY should have had regular opportunities to learn grouping up BEFORE attempting to earn a spot in a Trials group.

Many, many players here are not PC-MMO vets, so have maybe a 'tad' less familiarity with what they need to bring to being a supportive role as a group member for speed-runs, or official trials as they are called here in TESO. But Vet+ 1-10 was diluted, and Craglorn is just a flustercluck or a great grind spot depending on your point of view. o:)

The only thing playing Lotro will improve for you is a tour in Hello Kitty : P
(having played that game for too many years, I do know of what I speak ;))

That aside, I have played a Templar since beta and never had an issue with packs of trash mobs before nerf to content, let alone now... but I am glad to head that other Templars in the game are fairing better. The class is awesome and I would not play anything else.

I have a baby Templar that I've been leveling up very slowly and this is good news indeed. I still plan to dress her in mostly light armor but now I think I may throw on a piece or two of heavy armor to give her more versatility.

Having switched from DK to Templar a couple months back, the one thing that truly made the difference for me was armor/weapon. I played my DK as heavy armor S&S and honestly it was a chore all the way to Rank 10. My Templar I have played as Light armor with resto/2hander since the beginning.

Focusing on all class abilities and magica (1 2handed ability, 1 resto heal) and my Templar has been ripping through content now and before the VR reduction.
Easily go into the large public dungeons and pull the large groups of 6-8 and smoke them and come out at full health. After 1.33 my magica regen has gone from 107-143 and that makes it even faster to quest

Funny, prier to the update I was able to solo vet 10 all by myself, dungeon bosses and story bosses, as a Templar.

Group the mobs together, jabs, turn 20 deg to the right, jabs, turn 20 more deg to the right jabs

    Dead mobs...

I leveled with all heavy armor and sword and board. Extremely easy.
