Achievements that didn't activate retroactively

Most of the new crafting achievements did not work retroactively and you cannot get some of them because you can only do the stuff once.

Here is my list so far of achievements that should have applied but didn't:

Apprentice of refinement
Apprentice deconstructor
Rare style master - this one is a problem since you cannot relearn the motifs.
Truly legendary - still have one of the items on me for this one.
Master Blacksmith - still have the item on me that should have given it.
Legendary Clothier - also still have the item on me that should have given this one.
Recipe card
Legendary Woodworker - Also still have the item on me that should have unlocked this.
Superior Attire
Legendary Attire

It is probably because no one have access to crafting on the PTS that these have been overlooked.

Yeah I noticed that too. I thought it was kind of impressive that I apparently got to like 40-50 in each craft without deconstructing or refining anything, haha.

all achievement is account wide, if they can't fix it, get a new alt to do some of these things.

It's not a bug. The game wasn't tracking how many times you deconstructed/refined anything, so they can't retroactively put a number there.

I was looking forward to birch white. The improving items to legendary is a ral problem for me because I no longer want to improve things to legendary, and I wasted the mats to do that already.

I don't believe that its even possible to get the Legendary Attire achievement because jewelry is being counted as part of the set and there is no legendary jewelry that I know of.

There is no achievement for Legendary Attire. It stops at Epic.

I can double-check when the game is back up, but I remember looking through my Character section for achievements and seeing Superior and Epic, but no Legendary. Are you sure you guys aren't thinking of the achievement for crafting a legendary piece?

Funny thing about Rare Style Master is that the check for those motifs DID exist in the game, and worked just fine. You can check under Racial Style Learned and it will have every motif book you've read checked just fine. For some reason Rare Style Master just isn't checking the same variables, I guess.

That one definitely seems like a bug, because as you pointed out, the Racial Style Master achievement works fine. More importantly, the game does have a way of checking to see if you've read those books.

Funny thing much of the gear I am using atm is the exactly same gear that should give the achievements....

This is bothering me too all the Ach's i am missing. i never cared or looked before they TIED the dyes to Achievements but now its bugging me. I also noticed yesterday it said i opened 118 treasure chest. so next chest i found i checked if the number changed and after i opened the chest i still had only 118 treasure chest opened.

I did most of the bosses in the DC dungeons (I'm EP so my vr1-5 zones) and none of them were restored from what achievements were bugged. I have a complete for the VR6-10 zones and the 1-50. Just for some reason all my progress there was missing. Also still missing Mi'aiq stuff, firestarter stuff, bandit heart stuff, but since there is only a dye linked to one i don't care and can't be bothered to re-do the effort.

While this might be true, it is not an acceptable answer. This is either a bad design, or a bug. We've already achieved those goals. It is not the customer's fault that developers were unable to come up with a method to retroactively account for it.

Implementing achievements that rely on data the system hasn't been accounting for is unfair to the existing player base.

That's a ridiculous expectation.

1. You're going to deconstruct and refine plenty of stuff in the coming days/weeks/months. This is not a significant setback.
2. If the game wasn't tracking the data, it wasn't tracking the data. You can't expect the developers to wave a wand and change that.

Rare Style Master is bugged; it should be retroactive. The "Learn a Racial Motif" and "Learn all Alliance Racial Styles" achievements are retroactive and functional.

Similarly, Recipe Card is bugged, because (like racial motifs) recipes learned by a particular character are tracked. This is listed in the "Broken Achievements" thread in the Developer Discussion subforum.

The others are not retroactive and not bugged. The game didn't track items deconstructed, improvements, etc. until this patch, so they would not work retroactively.
