We will be conducting maintenance tomorrow (August 6) to deploy a fix for and re-enable the guild system on both the North American and European megaservers.
NA: 8AM EDT (2PM CEST) | EU: 10PM EDT (4AM CEST)

Did you forget to take down the servers? Is it a live hotfix?
Correct info about the date?
Delays?

The reason I ask so harshly is because not just my guild but we are several guilds who interact on a daily bases.

Did you post the wrong time?

    Click the link. In Europe its 4:32 AM, Wednesday the 6th.

    I know what the times are posted as I shared them on the my guild site. The first time posted in EDT is the time they go by which is tomorrow not today.

    Right, if that's true, that is one hell of a bad call.
    I work in global business with IT-datacenters, and our times are always local to the client. Can be that which confuses me.

    Zenimax! Would you PLEASE mind patching the guild patch on EU, right now? (Aug 6th, 4:39 AM CEST)

    But it says that the patch is being done on Aug 6th. NA always gets the patch before EU and we get it tomorrow morning, which is Aug 6th.

    Tomorrow is the sixth? According to my calendar, Windows, phone etc. it IS the sixth. Now. At this very moment. It's 04:45 6 August.

    As to why the server is not down...if this timezone confusion is anything to go by, there're some techs somewhere doing the same thing. Scratching their heads wondering what the hell time it is...somewhere.

    CEST time zones are already on 6 August. Maybe they meant 4 AM BST , that is 5AM CEST, idk.

    Please help me with my English, but doesn't the message say 6th for EU servers?

    They always post in ZOS local time which is EDT. And they are still the same date as me which is Aug 5th.

    Having re-read their post I believe we (EU) will get our patch early hours of Aug 7th.........

    Wednesday, 6 August etc.

    It is Wednesday. Sixth of August. Well past 04:00.

    Somebody either posted incorrect information, borked the time zone differences, or a problem came up and no one has updated the announcement.

    They posted EU server will be shutdown at 10PM EDT on Aug 6. As anyone should know that is a US time zone. So EU will be shut down at 4AM CEST on Aug 7.

    Let's face it they won't chage maintenance time just because people wants it.

    Could any Zenimax person state the correct time when the servers are going down for EU?

    Both in German and french it says Aug 6th, not 7th. Error? Maybe just delay for the server down?

    exactly or they did a mistake cause they usually use BST time for eu and no CEST , and BST 4AM should be in 2 mins, we will see ^^

    Those posts up there (3 different languages) don't even agree. German say "Mittwoch" (Wednesday) but French says: "Jeudi" which is Thursday (and it says the 7th).

    Now, unless either France or Germany suddenly buggered off to another part of the world and are no longer right next to each other, even Zen doesn't know when this is meant to happen.

    Gawd. Get on the same page here, Zen. You're giving me a headache.

    Well, buggerit, I'm just going to go play. I expect it'll be rather obvious if they decide they know what time it is and where and take down the EU server. :P

    Would be nice if the announcements were in agreement though.

    Is it so hard to use GMT? Even the announcement is wrong, they mentioned different dates for the same region.

    In case you are not aware of the locations of each countries; here's the map, France and Germany are pretty close; US is far away (like Peter Pan miles away).

    The dates were not expressed correctly because of a little mix up in the time-zones. We are updating the forum banner, here is what will happen for the next maintenance :
    • For the NA megaserver : August 6th - 8AM EDT (2PM CEST)
    • For the EU megaserver : August 6th - 10PM EDT (Which is August 7th - 4AM CEST in Europe)

    Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for your never-failing attention to detail!

    I am VERY surprised that this fix is not going out tonight. I have been supported of pretty much everything Zenimax have done (except Doisha, Bal, Vet1-3 content nerf). But these changes is a different league then GUILDS.

    One more day without guilds, alright, now we know. Thank you.
    No one might not give a damn about this.....but Zenimax lost SOME trust from me, with this call.
    I hope I'll get it back......

    I think it will be a lot clearer if you just use GMT when referring to updates for the EU server. Many european countries use GMT and it will help avoid any mix-ups like this.

    It annoys me to no end that we need to be without guilds another day while the earlier statement indicated it would only be untill today. Your communication, though improved, still needs to get better (while you're at it, also please separate the french, german and english forums).
