[ZOS] Bow attacks & abilities not displaying damage properly on enemy health bars. Please fix.

Since this patch, any damage done to any enemy by a bow does not show on their health bars. The damage, however, is done but not shown. I can overlook a lot of minor issues, and I'm fine with many of them. I understand that each patch brings some difficulties but we canno wait for another update to get such things fixed.
This needs a hotfix.

I'd like to think that ZOS already knows this and will fix it ASAP.

edit: It seems that Video settings affect this issue for some reason. Had everything set to 'High' and it worked fine for a time, after I changed shadows to 'Medium' it didn't work again, but neither it worked when I swapped back to 'High' settings.

    i've tested my NB with bow today the 1st time( yay cheap reskills) and i noticed bow attacks often don't hit if target is above or below you on terrain.
    some targets didn't show as targets(no red glow around) even if aimed perfectly at them.

    This isn't new with this patch though, or at least I've seen issues prior to this with my bow user when attacking at long range where the server doesn't update my client with the damage being done until the mob suddenly drops dead with half their health bar showing.

    I do see a late health drop but was playing with it and snipe just doesn't seem to be hitting as hard even once it does. Maybe its just my imagination though. I dont mess with numbers really.

    Yeah seems bow breaks the health bar. I dont even have to be far away. And once i hit with a bow, nothing i do will move the health bar. No class skills no other weapons, once they are hit with the bow they are staying at that health until they drop over.

    I ran into this tonight as well. I couldn't tell if it was lag or not (didn't appear so). While not game-breaking... it is on the verge of it.

    It's not bow, other weapons are doing it to. It's damage over time not ticking over.
    Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

    So far I've only tried Destructive staff and bow, while staff works fine, bow is not.
    But if it really is also within other weapons then this is messy, it just impairs our gameplay experience.

    Indeed. It's a Video game. Hence it hinges on the notion that you can see what's happening. This bug transcends simple error into a failure in the basest practice of designing a video game.

    I find that ZOS has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that they are not testing content prior to releasing it. It's questionable if they even look at it before saying it's good to go live. Even the bugs have bugs in ESO, and ZOS is unquestionably better at bug generating than any studio in the industry. It's truly remarkable how gifted they are in the exercise of bugging a game, and if there was an award for it they may only see competition with Goat Simulator, a game deliberately advertised as a buggy mess.

    Played around with a bow using DK in VR6 Auridon earlier today, every mob he would hit would have it's health bar frozen and would just fall down after it took enough damage, even if the health bar appeared full.

    This is annoying enough in PVE, so I can't imagine the horrors being unleashed in PVP right now.

    Now you know how DKs feel like after they "fixed" the grip so we couldn't pull people of walls. Anything that is not in our same terrain level or that has even a small rock in front of it doesn't get pulled.

    Hint: That bug still isn't fixed. Hope bow will be fixed faster..

    It's because they ad hoc throw new code into a patch without putting it through time on the pts. I can only assume this stupid decision was made to make the patch notes look better (more stuff makes it look like they are doing more).

    I'm sure you're right. They need to start getting a grip because all this 'let's break more stuff' patching is becoming an industry-wide joke.

    I thought it was my add ons that was causing this. So I did some testing and there is definitely something wrong with hp indicators.

    I tried PVP for the first time yesterday. Put aside that I'm a complete noob, I can tell you that the bow glitch is a real issue in PVP. You think your fine, then out of the blue you just drop dead and you're like WTF!?

    Then on the summary, you see that a guy had the time to throw at you a couple of snipe and a couple of poison arrows, and you have no feedback while you're being attacked...

    While I enjoy ESO greatly, if this game is going to have a chance, the game will need to seemingly have more bugs fixed than are actually created/regressed.

    I've played LOTS of MMOs (since EQ/The Realm/UO/AC days) and I can't recall a single one where I've experienced bugs at this level on a regular basis.

    Not trying to bring the hate, but this is getting frustrating none-the-less.

    The video states the issue cleary, no abilities or autoattack damage is displayed on their health bars, they just stay frozen.

    The bow "hits" on enemy healthbars are tied to the arrow of course, and you may notice that the arrow is not displaying when you pull out the weapon or draw. Same problem shown in that video.

    If the arrow by chance does start displaying properly when you switch to your bow then the attacks will display correctly on your enemy's health bar.

    I had this problem when my bow was in my second weapon slot. Unequipping all my weapons and switching it to the primary slot has fixed it, so far anyway.

    Maybe give that a try.

    I understand they want drops every 4-6 weeks, but it isn't really working. It seems like each drop brings a 1-2 weeks of headaches due to new or regressed bugs.

    ZOS either needs to modify their process to facilitate a polished update every 4-6 weeks or test each update until its ready at the risk of delaying an update.

    How many times are we going to have things like guilds disabled. It doesn't exactly foster faith in ZOS.

    I'd almost like to see them copy live to PTS when they are ready to test updates. Make PTS as close to production as possible. Its understandable deployment differences can make bugs easier/harder to track, but its almost like the same mistakes are being made over and over again.

    Yes, this is causing a huge problem..especially in PvP! Going from visual full health to dead is really quite confusing...

    Two days and still no comment from ZoS on this...wow.
    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    I tried this and it worked, putting my bow to my primary bar, instead of secondary. In the end, it does not matter where it is, if either primary or secondary bar but this isn't the fix we need. I hopeZOS will let us know soon.

    Something I just noticed (related to the desync):

    Sometimes, if you jump down from somewhere and you get damage, your health bar will stay at 100%.
