I just want the piece of armor I am about to dye to be highlighted as I mouse over each of the three vertical rectangles next to each piece of armor. That way I can more easily see what I am about to change.

I'd like to at least give it a "It's quite good but needs a few tweeks" but so far all the items I've tried to dye have had an undertone in the coloring based on the items original color which often times ends up giving the resulting color a rather... unpleasant hue. I've had a couple blues come out green or purple because of this. My brother is a leatherworker in his free time (which he doesn't have much of), and I've seen his dyed leather and it did not have an undertone to it. If someone who doesn't spent a lot of time working with leather is able to dye it without having these undertones, why can't my character who actually focuses on clothing?

It's pretty cool. I like how the colors are tied to achieves.

I just wish the dyes didn't have such a faded look on medium armor (original color showing through).

If you right-click on the last vertical rectangular wedge you dyed, you can select to clear it out. Unfortunately, that's not the same as a true undo as it won't take you back to the last color used in that wedge, but better than nothing I suppose.

Yeah, that's pretty much my thoughts on it.

What I initially would have greatly preferred to the current system where each dye is tied to a specific achievement would have been a system where each achievement gave you a certain number of points that you could spend to purchase dyes, with some dyes costing more than others. I've come around a bit, though, and now I kind of like the idea of knowing that only a person who completed achievement X can wear an item with dye Y.

Which tier dyes are you using? I'm not having this problem.... but I am using the rare tier.

Hmm, I wonder if it would have been better if some basic dyes were not bound to an achievement so that everyone could at least start out with some dyes. But be that as it may, the common dye achievements are easy to get and often you get them without even trying.

Overall I really like it but a few things need to fixed/improved
    Upside:
    • Account wide (this is huge)
    • Doesn't cost anything
    • Lots of colors to choose from
    • Can change color on any armor as many times as you like.
    • Looks different on each type of armor (this can also be a negative)
    • Colors have to be earned
    • Makes every player more unique looking.
    Downside:
    • Many achievements are bugged
    • Some achievements have to be earned from tasks you've already done (like crafting ones)
    • No shields or weapons yet.
    • Colors on different armor types (lt, med. hvy) can look very different and can make it difficult to blend mixed armor types.
    • Because they are dyes with some transparency to them you can not always change the armor color and/or existing colors will bleed through.
    • There's pink ;)

I have not leveled much and don't have many achievements. The dyes I have are good enough but I really would like a white and black that are easier to get. I think getting a dye for a fun achievement would be nice. How about a broiled slaughterfish burnt orange for being slaughtered?

I think it is a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Though, I think it needs to be rethought. I'd rather the Dyes be more like Motifs rather than tied to achievements. Also, Shields, and the Wood on weapons need to be dyable.

I tested all the tiers, though I don't have all the dyes unlocked I do have access to quite a few of the rare colors as well. It seems this is a problem with medium armor in general, however, as I've seen quite a few others who use medium armor making similar complaints. I don't have any heavy armor characters so I can't comment on that, but there's definitely a difference in the resulting color when dying a piece of light armor and a piece of medium armor the same color.

Yep. Some turn out pretty transparent and the existing medium armor shows right through. I guess it's because they are dyes and not paint but it is a little annoying.

I even had one color that didn't change the armor at all. It was one of the green ones (Alliance War Corporal).

Good, just needs the achievements that are either not allocated correctly (both ones that should be there but are not and vice versa) to be fixed. The only real change I would make is to put them all inside with equal lighting so you can have a 100% replicable lighting situation for dye jobs. Minor quibble though. :)

I think it is good enough. It is not amazing , but it is functional and has the functions many wanted.

Apparently now people want to dye shields and weapons.

They did a good job on the dyes. Previously I thought GW2 had the best dye system, but I much prefer the ESO dye system.

    Earth tones only.

Some of the best colors come from PVP achievements, what about people that dont PVP?

BTW shield dyeing would be nice

I would like to see shields covered and at times the dye doesn't change the color. I would like to see us get credit for the achievements we have done too. Otherwise, it is perfect, well mostly

I wouldn't say it's perfect but it seems pretty damn good to me. It would be nice if you could dye shields as well and maybe some detail coloring on weapon hilts but maybe that can come later.

I thought it might be better if it wasn't tied to achievements but I have even changed my mind on that as well. This gives some good incentive to work on achievements which is content that may not have been utilized otherwise. More activities in game that are worthwhile is a good thing. I think they did a great job.

I see a lot of complaints about the dye being applied and the material "bleeding" through and altering the color. This all has to do with the quality of the dye used. "Rare" dyes do not have such issues. "Common" dyes exhibit this phenomenon. Better the quality, better the coverage. Seems like a nice system.

It is pretty great but nothing is ever perfect. One of the things I dislike is that some colors are kind of washed out on cloth and to bright on metals. I would like some of the red shades to look as red on the cloth as on the metal. I think we will get that eventually.

The mechanics of the systems are just how I want them though so pretty perfect from my point of view.
