for the love of..... some people find a way to complain no matter what. I see a huge amount of dye options and with the ability to put colors in secondary and third sections the sky is the limit on what people can come up with.
yes, some colors come out borked with diff armor types, but with the view pane you can see what you are getting before you dye. I dont know of one game where dyes dont come out diff than what you expect or dye diff sections differently to everyones irritation.
what i did for my medium leather ones that had perma dye on them was to dye complementary colors in my other pieces. not my perfect choice but beats having a temper tantrum over what has been a remarkable update that we long have wished for

So if you have 2 different types/sets of armor you can almost never get them to be the same color, since they didn't start as the same color. So when you dye them, even using the same color they don't end the same color.
It is annoying, but i have to imagine that it must be hard to pull off an actual replacement since no game I have played actually does it that way.

Yes, to the white. I had a low level sorceress in an Orc jerkin I found that was teal and white and I wore it with the pants I got from the Queen's quest (kilt of something or other). The pants were a nice white…until dyes changed them to newbie green. Bah! I loved those pants.

I am perplexed by the color shifts in some of the gear. They didn't mention that in the patch and there was absolutely no reason for it, nothing looks better, and a ton of high level armor looks fuchsia or lobster colored.

Actually they did. right under the pics of new color saturation. Some of the colors they picked don't seem to be right when compared to the reasons given...
Armor Colors and Tints Adjusted
To prepare for our dye system, we've re-evaluated the color palette we use for armor and have made some adjustments to how colors display on gear throughout the game. This gives us more flexibility to add new armor sets and crafting materials, provides some more saturated colors, and will make upgrades consistently look more significant. The upgrade may alter the original colors on armor you already own, but you'll be able to choose your own color schemes with the dye system should you dislike the changes.

Congratulations whiners, now everyone is wearing ugly, washed clothing.
