Guild Patch Update

I'd just like to say thank you for putting in the long hours and was wondering if any of you at ZOS slept last night?! Take a break, have a sweetroll and a cup of java, or take a Khajit nap....you deserve it

With that said, it's been almost 24 hrs since ZOS first notified the community that guild functionality would be disabled and I'm wondering...

Is it possible to receive an update on when guild functions will be ready? Does it still look like today (Aug 5)? or are we in for a longer wait?

However, I would refrain from asking for "when" until their stated window has expired. still got 12 hours left in the day (for some of us anyway)

They really can't give a presice time fram here. Fixing the guild function might only take tweeking a few lines of code. Then again it might take rewriting the whole thing, or anywhere inbetween. They won't know what's involved until they start fixing it.

Like I said on another thread, this is top priority. ZeniMax is literally firing on all cylinders to get this fixed.

There was a thread in the Customer Support-English category which I posted in. My post was showing another game which had a major backlash regarding chats and the mobile app for the game after it deployed a major update. And convieniently (did I spell that right?), that same game is deploying a major update tomorrrow, so I'm wondering if that game could be in ESO's shoes tomorrow after the update.

The game I speak of is Rift, made by Trion Worlds, and the major backlash I speak of is chats and the mobile app being mysteriously disabled after 2.6 Dreamweaver deployed. Tomorrow, 2.8 Madness Wakes will be released.

It took a full week for chat issues to be resolved. It took another week for the mobile app to have full functionality restored.

The OP reminds me of my boss... sympathetically commiserating with me about the difficulty of a project, while simultaneously hounding me about when it's going to get done. Cuyler must have a job in management.

hope it's sorted soon, I miss having a guild store to buy gear on, I did my respec, then realized shop was gone so can't easily buy a set of gear lol.

This is just stupid why they deployed the patch at live servers at first if they did not tested it on PTS?! Just to ruin the Guilds, I can't now take some important stuff from my guild bank, can't do anything than just watch those few dyes on my armor, nothing special So I lost this time of gameplay, and you probably take tommorow whole day also...I want that on EU server in 6AM Central European Time!

You're clearly right. There's absolutely no way that this bug could have not occurred in the PTS environment, is there? I mean, it's much more likely that everyone, including the PTS players, missed a giant, glaring problem with guilds and deliberately left it in there just to mess with you.

P.S. You haven't lost any gameplay time.

We’ve finished testing our fix, and are preparing to apply it to the live servers and restore guild functionality. We’ll be taking both megaservers offline tomorrow (Wednesday) to deploy the fix. Due to this downtime, we won’t be performing maintenance during our regular windows on Thursday.

The North American megaserver will be offline on Wednesday (August 6th) beginning at 8:00AM EDT, and the European megaserver will be brought down at 10:00PM EDT. We anticipate each maintenance to last a few hours, and when the servers come up, all guild functionality will be back.

We understand this has been frustrating and an inconvenience, but thanks for hanging in there while we work through this!

WTF this means we get our GUILDS back in Thursday?!!! OMG You stole our time with your stupid bugs which in first place had to be fixed in PTS...

What time was stolen? Did someone steal your time? You should probably call the Time Police, because stolen time is kind of their thing.

haha yuup I'm an engineer/project manager....this one meets many a deadline under extraordinary circumstances.

Seriously tho I'd wait forever for this patch it's that important to the game. It is not my intention to pester which is hard to convey thru a text.

People that have a meltdown about bugs in software should probably stop playing video games. And using computers. as an alternative recreational activity, I recommend digging holes. There could be treasure buried out in your yard right now!! Its probly over by the septic tank GOGOGO!!!!

I agree half-heartedly. However in my experience deadlines are not set in stone but are usually of a sliding scale nature with new developments or setbacks occurring almost hourly. Usually one can say, "well this happened so it doesn't look like I'll finish today" with some advance notice to the "deadline".

They already said they found the issue and were testing a fix. I'm just wondering if that worked or if we'll be patiently waiting for midnight just to find nope it didn't. I don't need it to be precise. I think the entire community is waiting on this patch so it wouldn't hurt to sprinkle a little more info on us.
