No BOP Trials items at all?!

How stupid is this? There is no lockout on the trials witch means you can run them 1000 times a day in theory. This will drive down the prices on all the trials set so every one can buy a full sett for a few thousand gold. This is completely stupid and will totally ruin the economy. This has to be changed with in the next 24 hours or the game economy is totally destryed

There is a game economy? If so, I sure haven't found it.

BoP is one of the worst mechanics ever implemented in games. No, thank you. I would like for my runs to have some meaning other than deconstructing items. Whether I sell it, trade it, or give it away, I earned it so should be able to decide what I want to do with it.

This is F2P level nonsense. This really better be a bug and one that is fixed quickly. I really hope they know the sort of stagnation this kind of thing creates. I'm waiting to hear a response but it might be the last straw for me. I really hate to see this game go down the failed trials of the past.

BoP keeps people playing the game. BoP has been switched from BoE in every single game in the past for a reason.

@ZoS can we get clarification if this is a bug or intentional please?

No its not. Its the best idea ever when it comes to restrict the common use of an item. Some items have to be obtained only by game play because they are so powerful. Other players that can't or are to lazy should not have to spend 5 minutes grinding gold to buy those.

it also makes people BECOME lazy. I heard it all the time in neverwinter. "nah I don't want to why go and do the dungeon when I can just buy it on the AH" Same stuff happened in EQ on FV

This has been done several times before all with terrible results.

@Xnemesis Yea and for how long do you think you can get those prices? You should be glad if you can get those prices for the next 5 days and then we will see the prices drop to maybe 1k-2k a peace in 4-5 weeks.

I don't care as long as I'm getting something out of it. Seriously, what is the point of all this superior equipment if all you do is deconstruct it?

If someone can't do trials or whatever else gets implemented that gives these types of rewards, than having the reward isn't going to suddenly make them that much better. I just don't care if everyone in the game runs around with the same armor as long as I'm the one that's able to sell it to them.

Having rewards like this isn't going to make people do the content, it's just going to get people complaining that they don't have it.

They should have just made them tradeable with group members in the trial instance. This would have helped with the overly grindy feeling of never getting the drops you need, but would limit the longterm effects on the economy and ensured that new v12s would still run the content (instead of just buying sets).

What's wrong with deconstruct them? You can sell the items you deconstruct for 1k gold or so... And you can give it to your other V12 characters.

But before 1.3.3 patch you had to run the trials more then 5 times to get a full set as you got duplicates. This motivated allot of players to sign up for the guild events so we could do trials. Now it will be harder to get people to join up as some one mentioned above in this thread.

I don't mind if every one in the game have full trial gear either. However I expect them to earn those gear. Now when you can buy them you can get them allot easer with no afford or skill what so ever. In theory a lv 10 by just doing a few quests can afford to buy this gear even if he cant equip it.

In fact there should be allot more BoP items in the game. Especially for PvP.

That is good that you could not... as that motived you to subscriber to the game for 1 more month.

Why in the name of god someone thought that this was a good idea? Allowing lazy/unskilled people obtain an item that should be a reward for your efforts, not a reward for buying gold from gold farmers.

It would be nice and a good idea if the BOE end-game item could be exchanged with someone else inside the trial group, but no one else outside that group. But even that idea can lead to many problems (like reducing the replay value of the trials).

Please change it, please make it BOP again, take down the servers and change it!

so having less items to sell is good for the economy? great idea sounds abit like the socialists way during the cold war ^^

having those items sellable is good for the economy and nothing else so his hole discussion attempt is build on sand and thus utter garbage.
and on top of that as long as classes are completly shut out e.g. templars can only hope to get either a social spot or a tank slot wich is already contested by 3 other classes who can do that job equally having those items bop is sth to be kept.

    Bind on Pickup?

Uh if so... it is a good thing to do, also that way you can't just sell the items to people that never intend to do the content.

It is pretty standard for MMO's as it is, nothing big there...

Really? Do you not think it will be like no one will like to buy anything other then the best trial sets? Not the sets that drop from the 2-3 first bosses in there. So instead of selling 5-6 different sets you now only have 3 different armor sets to sell and some weapon sets. The trial sets even going to kill the sell of allot of crafted sets as well like the willow set for an example.

They aren't even hard to get their is nothing progressive or hard about the raids in ESO. The game is very casual and TBH the gear will come and go every few months when the champion system hits.

To be honest I would prefere being able to completely self tailor your set bonus the way it work best for one self, eg. visit all crafting spots, click learn set bonus from stuff that casually drops, or a chance to learn them when decomposing.

Having some sort of actual advanced crafting system... in general only a few MMO's had unique crafting, such as SWG had it before the system got nerfed to the ground.

Well in SWG you had to get rare drop components that was hard to come over to craft some stuff and also some rare materials with the right stats could take 6 months between the spawns and only be available for a few days before they diapered and was away for an other 6 months. So the items you could craft was restricted by the resources rarity to be able to craft them at max damage or damage reduction.

For those that did not play SWG. All resources had 5 different stats each stats had a value from 1 - 999. To craft the best DL-44 for an example you needed aluminum with minimum 900 on str. Every 5 day the resources changed or spawned new if you had depleted your mine and it was random what quality it spawned at. It worked in that game because the crafting system was very complex. Easy to learn but hard to master. To make something work like that in SWG you need to have a very complex resource system where you have allot of different qualities that can spawn.

Would love to see they do something similar here. But they need to tally revamp the crafting system and the gathering system for the core to make it work.

"(Difficult Mode)" - it means the items from the difficult mode of the end boss is BoE right now, wich is a bug. When you do it normal mode, the items there is intended to be BoE i think. But i have alle pieces to all classes and even some of the sets i got 2 off, so for me idc.

We had a stamina build NB on the trials the other day when one of our regulars had to leave and he pulled over 900 DPS some of the bosses. So stamina builds work on trials if you know what your doing.

PS: He would have done like 1100 DPS with magica though.

What bothers me just as much as this BoE nonsense is that I spent months farming 7 pieces of Aether and upgrading them to legendary and now all of a sudden without any discussion or announcement in patchnotes ALL trial drops have slightly better stats on top of being BoE. I'm not even certain that the hardmode drops are different from the normal mode drops at the moment as that would essentially mean 3 different tiers of Aether gear in existence:

    - the legacy stuff that I spent months farming which now has shittier stats (even in legendary) than the stuff that people can buy now

    - the normal mode drops (better stats than the old BoP gear)

    - the hard mode drops (even better stats??? I dont know)

My suspicion is that ZoS [snip] up and made the upgraded versions that were supposed to only drop in hardmode also drop in normal mode. So far I've only seen 2 versions of the gear even in the posts by players that completed the the hardmodes.

Does anyone have a definite answer to my speculations? Are there 2 or 3 versions of Aether?
