Armor disintegration. What's it based on?

First off, I'll say I have an add-on which tells me the percent of my armor: 100% is fully repaired, 0% is completely disintegrated

Right, so I healed a couple of dungeons and managed to stay away from most of the fighting but noticed my armor really dropped. I'm talking similar to the melee DPSs here, who really took some hits. My guess after that was that armor in a group disintegrates equally for the dmg taken by the group or something along those lines.

Wrong, I just soloed a v6 solo dungeon with my v12 Sorc and I managed to not get hit a even a single time (go-go Crystal Fragments and Streak). When I exited the dungeon I noticed my armour had dropped to 94%. Huh?

Also when I'm theorycrafting (testing passives, armour and such) I usually go to the level 45 area and allow to be hit repeatedly by low level mobs, yet the armor never drops below 99%.

So I guess I'm completely confused now. What's the armor disintegration rate (which drives the cost of repairs) really based on? Anyone know?

We ALLLLL want to know and have asked, often, repeatedly, with zest and ire, with sweet rolls offered. Still waiting.

What irks me is that if I'm good enough with my CCs and my dodging that I don't get hit, then I should get an extra bonus from the solo dungeon which is to simply forego the repair cost. It's both rewarding good play and it's even more realistic.

I don't mind in group dungeons if the repair bill is shared. If a good tank does his job well and holds all aggro, he/she shouldn't have to pay a huge repair bill while the healer for example (who also benefited from good tanking) gets to pay nothing.

The way it is currently calculated is a complete mystery...
