Bow Nerf

    Yes I am a lvl 19 NB with a ton of skills invested. Right now NBS are gone. JUST Add new classes already. I've tried beating lvl 22's but now they have such high re-gem abilities that I have to RUN with like 400 armor? Normally I would own them. But nothing works.

    They've also nerfed the eagle eye set to give a 3m range increase. Why? I think they just pull numbers out of their behind in order to pad out changes. This was already an expensive trade-off for someone looking to specialise in the bow with dubious rewards. Why make it that little bit less attractive? Why not just remove it all together.
    gg I just looked.. They've taken 6 meters off with two updates. I guess so DKs can charge properly... idk

    But DKs just use reflectives... No need to nerf bow , wtf.

    Let's be fair, DK's dont have a charge. That's One Hand and Shield and Two Handed. If they did they'd just run stick+stick like everyone else who wants to be optimal. The DK is actually the only class that has to use a weapon skill to charge.

    The range reductions however make one scratch their heads as to why anyone ever invented the Bow in Tamriel:

    Inventor: "Behold! I have fashioned a device that launches a pointed shaft! I call it: a Bow!"

    Audience Member: "Does it shoot farther than my magic stick?"

    Inventor: "Well no but..."

    Audience Member: "Does it recharge your magicka when you shoot it?"

    Inventor: "No, but..."

    Audience Member: "Must recharge stamina when you shoot it then right?"

    Inventor: "Well it doesn't do that either"

    Audience Member: "How about damage then? Must hit really really hard!"

    Inventor: "Honestly your stick hits harder, and the things it shoots can be reflected."

    Audience Member: "Well that just sounds like rubbish."

    Inventor: "Your probably right. I'll see if I can miniaturize it and make it effective against vampires."

    Audience Member: "Whatever."

    Probably not, but they need to work on it. Don't see why every weapons heavy attack wasn't made to play their full animations if you released it early as well. They need to do that next.

    Cause at least now you can sell it, but if it was removed you'd have lost that precious 50 gold the bow will get you from the vendor? :trollface:

    The question will be, with the snipe morph for extra range and with the eagle eye full set can you still take down a tower mage with the new patch?

    It would make sense that one person in a team of twenty would have those skills set so you could do that as most wouldn't want to run with that much range in PvP unless they have built for range in that instance.

    Currently (pre patch anyway) anyone with a bow with snipe can take out a tower mage, that and sorcs but with the 1.3.3 patch ZOS have given more range to the tower mage at resources.

    I can't test this for at least 12 hours from now, can anyone have a go and confirm that you can snipe tower mages with those skills without being detected? I'm usually the one that drops the tower mage in a small group while taking resources so I'd like to know.

    Cogo, what I was getting at (and rather badly I might add) is if the heavy attacks are the way they are now, and if snipe doesn't get you the range needed on the tower mages now, then the only skill worth having on bow is lethal/venom arrow which will just get spammed by everyone running around with a bow.

    Snipe is great as an opener, but I could do more damage with lethal/venom in the same amount of time of snipe. Heavy attacks will be awful now, so really all you are left with is venom/lethal to spam. Urgh...
    Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

    According to past "fixes" iv seen. ZOS favors the "makes whats strong stronger and whats weak weaker" approach. I will still use my bow no matter what though. I WILL NOT use an annoying stick that can somehow block as well as a shield, until more balance is attained. Sorry ZOS, it will take more than this to turn me into an LA staffer! try again!

    Even more thinking back to my first logging in and getting a bow for my char. For every char. As if everyone should have a bow as the weapon of choice.

    Except they only nerfed bow. Which means the light armor/staff users can still clip to their OP heart's content, when they aren't block/spamming.

    One-sided "fix" is one-sided.

    Sadly, that has been the point alllll along. To delete the archer/ranja mold and dilute bow use so it is generically useable/of little advantage aside from initial pulls to EVERYONE. There are those exemplary individuals (^-^ Gooooo NookyZooky et al!) who maximise what there is to do with their bow...but really now, a halfling, if one lived in Tamriel, could throw arrows farther and possibly incur more damage. :(

    In all seriousness though, why the heck can a dang staff block as well as a shield?? or ANY weapon for that matter? it really ticks me off to see someone with a staff block my arrows...... it makes NO sense. They don't have to make this game super realistic(I hope they don't) but they can add in some common sense. its hard enough being an archer in this game by itself, but when EVERYONE can block your arrows, it only makes it more frustrating. hmm.... I should make a discussion about this
