Guns In ESO?

I love ESO. I've been playing since its launch and I love all the weapons.

However, there is one weapon that is absent that should be included...and that is guns. Now, let me explain why I think it would be a good idea:

Cannons were used back in medieval times. Cannons are a type of gun. Cannons were basically the choice of most medieval-era armies.

ESO is set back in medieval times, right? And so is Warhammer Fantasy Battle? Warhammer has cannon and primitive gunpowder weapons. So therefore, if cannons were used and they are a type of gun, why not includes guns?

Now, I completely understand that the Dwemer were likely the best people to introduce guns, but that doesn't matter. I have a good general layout:

Guns would have a 30 meter range, but cannot be fired at targets within 5 meters of you. Guns will require 3 seconds to reload. However, it deals increased firepower than a bow.

Active Abilities

Ability 1: Headshot
Cast Time: 2 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability headshots your enemies, dealing increased damage.
Morph 1: Empowered Shot
This morph will deal even more damage if your target has more health than you do.
Morph 2: Bleeding Shot
This morph adds a Damage Over Time effect.

Ability 2: Multi-Shot
Cast Time: 3 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability will hit 2 targets instead of one, but it will deal less damage to the second target.
Morph 1: Scatter Shot
This morph will hit an additional target, dealing the same damage as the second target.
Morph 2: Precision Shots
This morph will deal the same damage to the second target as it will to the first target.

Ability 3: Fireshot
Cast Time: 2 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability will hit a target will deal damage over time.
Morph 1: Searing Shot
This morph will increase the damage and increase the time.
Morph 2: Purifying Fireshot
This morph will heal you for 20% of the damage done.

Ability 4: Iceshot
Cast time: 2 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability will hit a target and freeze the target in place for 3 seconds.
Morph 1: Frozenshot
This morph will freeze the target longer.
Morph 2: Windchill
This morph will deal damage over time.

Ability 5: Volley
Cast time: 3 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability fires a hail of shot in a wide cone.
Morph 1: Increased Distance
This morph will increase the cone length slightly, allowing targets further away to be hit as well.
Morph 2: Sharp Objects
This morph will increase the damage.

Ultimate: Area Shot
Cast time: 2 sec
Range: 5-30 meters
This ability fires a spread of shot in a designated area. The shots deal more damage as you gain more Ultimate charge.
Morph 1: Spreadshot
This morph will increase the radius of the circle slightly and will slightly increase the damage.
Morph 2: Piercing shot
This morph will ignore a portion of the targets armor.

Passives

Passive 1: Sneak Attack
This passive will deal increased damage if you are crouched down and hidden.

Passive 2: Range Increase
Increases the maximum range slightly.

Passive 3: Quick Shots
This will reduce the reloading time slightly, allowing you to attack faster.

Passive 4: Free Shot
You will have a chance upon landing a critical hit of firing an instantaneous shot at the same target.

Passive 5: Gun Lance
This will attach a small spike to the gun, which will deal damage to a target you are facing when he gets into melee range. However, this will only deal the equivalent of 50% of the damage from your one-handed melee weapon...or 30% of the damage if it is two-handed.

Thus concludes my suggestion to guns.

    No.....There is no reason to have guns at all ever. There was no gun powder in Tamriel.

    God, please no. This is NOT Warhammer. We have magic and swords. We do not need gunpowder. Please file that idea in the round file.

    Gunpowder, to my knowledge, has never been a part of the Elder Scrolls universe. Even the dwarves, who were the most technologically advance cultures on Nirn, didn't use it.

    Just because Elder Scrolls is set in a medieval-type setting does not mean that they have the same technology.

    OMG, Please no ...I hated the guns in other games and had to yank the sounds of them out of the games or replace them with silencers sounds because after a while using them ....they gave me such a headache!

    A gun with 'Ice shot'? XD

    Also, GW2 has stuff almost exactly like this, you might want to check it out. There is no base for introducing guns to Tamriel in the lore.

    completely destroys the lore. and, no thank you. guns have nothing to do with eso and have nothing to do with elderscrolls history in single player games, and i pray to azura it remains that way and does not change.

    Ok, the gist I'm getting here 5 minute since I started this is no one wants anything to do with guns...despite other MMO's having guns in their games.

    Given that ESO takes place prior to any of the other games, it would not make sense to add technology that's futuristic to the previous ES games to a game that's supposed to take place so long prior to them.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not against having guns in games, I didn't mind them at all in Guildwars 2, but I don't want to see Zenimax pulling something backward like this when I don't even trust them to make much simpler decisions.

    Just because other MMOs have it does not mean that it should be included here. Guns just aren't part of this game universe, and should remain that way.

    lol love it OP, id not mind it, but it doesnt really tie in with the lore lol, and id be even more of a nightmare to people in pvp if i could shoot, wouldnt have to play battlefield 4 anymore haha

    10 minutes in, and I have officially screwed up. Obviously no one is going to want to hear my new crafting mechanic, engineering, just by looking at this. I think I'll go and return to my lair...think up another, more...relevant, suggestion for ESO.

    The Dwemer died out for a reason. The dwarf-elves and their technology was lost with them.

    @Animus0724‌, I'm still waiting for my patcher to finish downloading the stupid patch...so, I decided to start off this discussion. Clearly, I'll need to return to my lair and think up another suggestion if I want to impress ZeniMax and the community.

    We already have Projectile Weapons, they are called Bows and Staffs/Staves.

    I've been hankering for sime kind of Dwemer engineering content since I played Morrowind. It could fit into that. That said, I doubt ZOS will touch anything considered "lore breaking" to this extent with a 100 foot clown pole. I really appreciate the lore, and sometimes conflicts bug me. Like "dwarven ore", it took me a couple minutes to let that not annoy me. But some people cant let the contradictions in eso go. I googled " dwarven ore" to see if there was a lore explanation, and found like hundreds of nerd rage forum rants.
    Think of the ZOS employee's safety. Did you see Matt Firor onstage at Quakecon? He looked like he was going to have a nervous breakdown. Hes probly concerned about assassination attempts with Tamriel historical canon accurate weapons.
    It would be pretty cool though. The ayleids and dwemer also have sweet death ray tech I wanna use. But, you know...
    "THE PHYSICAL SCALE OF THE COMPONENTS NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT A FUNCTIONAL AYLEID LIGHT CONCENTRATION FOCUS DEVICE COMPLETELY PRECLUDE THE POSSIBILITY OF ASSEMBLING A REPLICA PRACTICAL FOR PERSONAL COMBAT PURPOSES!!!"

    *Edit-oh yeah, the thing I wanted to say before I started trying to be a smartass...I think the biggest reason it wont happen is that Bethesda seems like they decided pretty early on that theres no guns in their fantasy universe

    TES is not set in "medieval times." It is set in a fictional universe.

    No guns. Not that they would ever even consider doing this.

    You might want to recheck your time line. Even though gunpowder has been around for a while, the first cannons didn't appear till the last couple centuries of the medieval era, which also marks the decline of the heavy armored calvary knights.

    Also, this is a fantasy universe with magic and more or less static tech level that lasts for thousands of years.

    No guns please.... they don't fit in the ES universe and it makes no sense. Guns are superior to medieval weapons and if guns are in it would be stupid not to use them.
