Will the launcher auto update the patch if you leave it open?

Just got home from working midnights and I was thinking what a drag it's gonna be to run the patch after I wake up and wondering if there was some nifty tactic to get it to download while I was sleeping..... so would it update on it's own if I left the launcher open? Or is there another trick?

I think you need to enable auto-update in the launcher settings, otherwise it will just show UPDATE instead of PLAY

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a way to turn off auto update. Or at least the default behavior is to auto update. So just leave it running and you'll be fine.

I plan to leave mine open while I'm at work. The only time this has not worked was when my internet dropped out and I had to reset my router when I got home. As long as that doesn't happen, I'll be able to play when I get home.

I've normally already left for work by 3am so on patch days I just open the launcher before I leave and let it do its thing. By the time I get back home most (sometimes all) the patch is already done and I'm good to go

You can set the updater to either update at launch or manually but the default is set to auto so unless you have changed it you should be good.

I don't think the update happens automatically to be honest. Yes if you open the launcher while the patch has been supplied it will start downloading and patching until its done.

However, if you turn the launcher on now then I doubt it will just suddenly start downloading in a few hours once the server is back online.

It will.

I make it a point to just leave my launcher running 24/7 so I don't have to worry about it. I have yet to not get a patch that automatically downloads and installs.

Just remember, if your PC is set to go into Sleep Mode, then the Launcher will not update the game while the machine is asleep.

Which is why I changed my machine to not go to sleep today so I can log in without delay.
