Transmogrification for ESO

Anyone know if this is ever going to be added? I am tired of this game adding in great looking heavy armor and leaving us cloth armor wearers having to deal with horrible looking armor. At the very least they should get rid of the armor passives being tied to armor and make them tied to something else like spells that we use or play style. It's not viable to play as a Destruction DK wearing plate armor because it's the only armor I like.

It's one of those "in the works" bits, but I doubt they'd ever let you transmog to a different armor type. That recognition is somewhat important in the meta (or would be, if other armors were more viable, I suppose).

Yeah it was the same thing in WoW but I was hoping they would fix that in this game. The new armors they are adding look really sweet but it's all heavy armor, the light armor ones still look like crap. Would love to see a change to the system that would give me heavy armor look but light armor passive stats.

Hopefully they don't add this system. World of Warcraft had the absolute worst sort of wardrobe system. If they ever add something I would like it to be more along the lines of Rift's Wardrobe system.... it was far better.

I really hope anything like this won't be added, and if it is you should have to stay within the armor models of the type of armor you wear. I'm sorry to hear you like plate, it's kinda useless right now.

This is kind of a moot point already with the presence of disguises and jerkins for light armor.

I hope never, would rather a separate cosmetic slot system than having to transmog every armour upgrade I ever get.

Y'know, that's a solid point. I rescind my argument.

I'm generally in favor of a wardrobe feature anyway, and having my one "concern" prove unjustified just means I can go all-in on asking for it.

This is one of those features I would pay money to see them implement.

Something like Rift or LOTR where you have slots for your normal gear and then a separate tab with all the same slots for APPEARANCE gear. You get the stats from the normal slots and the appearance from the appearance slots. No permanently changing gear, and you are free to swap out appearance pieces out in the world as you get them without visiting some transmog engineer.

Of course, the armor type of the appearance piece would have to be the same as the stat piece. So, a light armor chest piece could only have a light armor chest piece slotted for the appearance (though dress/jerkin would be interchangeable).

This would add a huge character customization meta component and is sorely missing from any respectable modern MMO that opts not to include it.

ZOS take my money, please!

This is a HORRIBLE idea. in PvP i need to be able to look at someones gear and asses how powerful it is.

That comment is loaded and you know it.

There is essentially no difference appearance wise from a Veteran 1 Dunmer set of light armor and a Veteran 12 set, especially after the dye system.

Other than that, the ONLY thing you currently have to gauge by (what TYPE of armor: heavy, light, etc.) would still be there, since you can only use an item of the same type to customize.

The only argument against this is that people don't want other people to have more options.

I think the Champion system will help you in this regard, but it will take a lot of work.
