for me they never get past played due to my 60% DW crit rateIf you listen carefully you'll hear the NPC shout "Well played there good Sir, fine shot"
It's more to do with aesthetics, so yes the healthbar is all the info I need.
My condolences that you can't 'read' it as well as I can.

Passive-aggressive and condescending comment aside, I agree with you that the health bar is important. However it is not a better(or actually good) indicator of the difference between a crit hit and a normal hit unless your head is just a straight cpu processor.
Akula, read my first reply in this thread and then read your reply that quoted it. I think you will find your initial reply to be pretty condescending and rude, if you can be honest.
Firstly, I only talked about preference, you brought up immersion. Now you want to argue which preference is 'better', when I didn't claim either was.
You like addons, I don't need them. You don't need to be defensive about it.

Well, my head certainly is not a Central Processing Unit processor. It does not process CPUs.
I am, however, able to tell when the red filling of the bar is reduced by more than the normal amount.
Weapon enchantment procs are another indicator. They seem to mostly happen on crits and heavy attacks.

For the record I'm not a greatly skilled player and tend to spend most of my time focussed on the opponent and surrounding, the MOB's health bar gets a regular look, as does my own, so I know the state of play, but certainly not on a per-hit basis and with a variety of attacks being used I'm not nearly clever enough to keep a running total damage done in my head; some sort of aural/visual clue would help.

I tried to replicate it, but I'm not built for crits (I'm a mostly-PvE healer, leave me alone), so they're quite rare for me. But I seem to recall seeing that distinctive flash on more than one occasion, so...?
If someone with a crit build could verify, that'd be cool. Worth noting: I use the "improved" bars from Wykkyd's plugin, so that could be having an effect.
Yes most healing skills can crit and you also get ultimate points on critical heals.I am not sure how important how important criticals are for dedicated PVE Templar healers. For my NB that uses offensive class skills with a healing component and heals a lot with resto staff when taking Keeps in PVP critical heals help a lot. The critical healing is why I like spell crit more than the damage boost from crit.Circuitous wrote: »Legit? I'll have to look into that, then.
