Vampire question (another one..)

I have seen people asking/paying for a vampire bite and i thought i undrestood why. I mean it seemed obvious 
That was until i did a bit of googleing and found out that one needs to additionally complete a level 40 quest. Apparently. No way near that level, cannot know.
So i started wondering why a low level would want to pay 10grand for a bite if so.
Can you level the passives before even taking that quest? Is that why?

GFBStarWars✭✭✭lots of classes are able to complete the quest at low level, it involve killing 10 vampire level 40, not that hard.
10k for a bite seem pretty high as a price.1 -

No, the quest is required in order to fully unlock vamp.

sylviermoone✭✭✭✭✭That is correct, liquid. You can't level the passives unless you've completed the quest. You aren't *actually* a vampire until you've done the quest.
I've seen it done on YouTube as low as level 10; my husband competed it at level 17 as an Imperial DK.
You can take the mobs 1 at a time through the quest, so it isn't really that difficult.....
10k seems pretty unreasonable at this stage in the game, though, even with spiffy dyes attached to that achievement...

✭✭✭✭✭You're welcome. I believe anyone can do it if they are patient and determined enough. Starting out as a vampire, even with just the drain ability, will definitely give you an edge.

Pele✭✭✭✭✭Those who sell their bites to new players tend to omit the crucial fact that one must defeat 10 level 42 mobs to actually become a vampire. While it is possible to do the quest as soon as you leave Coldharbour, it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, for a new player to do so.
I completed the quest at level 7 just to see if I could. However, it was on my third alt, I was quite familiar with the game controls, skills, and mechanics. Even then, it was time consuming and there was practically no margin for error.1 -
Seravi✭✭✭✭✭I bit a lvl 8 that finished the quest a few weeks ago. Not sure why bite prices are increasing. I always bite for free and always have trouble giving it away. I've tried to bite for two days now and they would rather PAY for it than get a free one. Trust me the paid bite isn't any sweeter than my bite AND you still have money in the bank! LOL! 0 -

✭✭✭✭✭The first time I bit someone it was probably a month after launch, and I did it for 8k since that is what they offered. Even at the time I thought it was a little high.
Since then I regularly bite for free, or maybe for 2-4k depending what others are offering. But that is only if I notice someone asking when I happen to be on one of my vamp crafters.
I should probably be more diligent about it. After all, our matron did charge us with bringing new children into the fold. The "for fun and profit" part I suppose just goes without saying. :P0 -

It is my understanding that there is a dye unlock for being a vamp. One of the black dyes.0 -

Especially when there are guilds that'll do it for free and advertise themselves as such.
