Weapon Damage - This attribute effects the amount of damage you do with any skill found in the Weapon Skill Line.
NOTE: It does not matter if the skill uses Magicka or Stamina as long as it is a Weapon Skill, it is governed by this Attribute. Anything that increases Weapon Power, increases this stat for a temporary duration.

I would go with raw damage.

so weapon damage right? and so another question would you go 24 weapon power or 4% weapon crit?

Weapon power is anything that raises the damage of the skills and attacks you're using other than class skills.

Weapon power for example boosts resto staff, two handed swords, bow special attacks and normal damage.

From what I've seen now, weapon dmg doesn't stack as much as it should for swings. Fully buffed I can reach Hard Cap weapon Dmg of 246 and my swings and weapon abilities still are very weak. I've heard talks of wanting at least 50% crit, any amount after 50 is basically useless until you reach 66%. Currently it is impossible to get 50% crit with melee, from what I've seen. So there is hardly an answer for your question. You wont be able to get the right amount of crit, and weapon dmg is weak. Once update 3 is released I'm going to play around a lot with weapon dmg vs. crit to see what is a good ratio between the two. I'm a DK and the gear I'm thinking about making is 5 piece medium hundings rage, gives 8% weapon Crit, and 2 piece heavy of the fire, gives 14 weapon dmg. Then I'll use trials gear 3 sets for rings/2hander.

Depends on what you're build is going for. I actually mainly go for "sharpened" (penetration) as my weapon trait of choice

yea actually I have hundings rage but its not going to be weapon damage in 1.3 its going to be weapon power which is why I am asking these questions

I have nb 2h/bow with weighted on 2h and precise on the bow stamina build

    EDIT: Oops..

I used weighted on twohanded also, its the only way! but as a bow user, i defo think that sharpened is the way to go.

Idk I have a thread about that in my discussions its been a ride. people keep explaining to me that its the time pulled to heavy attack which people are expecting it to be a fast animation, but I think its a joke and refuse to use haste on bow nor weighted

ah no see I use all stamina but 4 spells and there getaway moves or buffs so im good I don't think sharpened is necessary over precise forsure rather have that weapon crit

The hunting's rage set is being changed back to weapon damage and is no longer weapon power

About twohanded heavy attacks btw.. there's a trick...

Hold down your mouse for a normal heavy attack as normal, but about 2/3 through the animation (normally as your char is swinging it over their head), stop and spam light attacks. it almost does a weird combo move including the heavy attack followed by 2 quick light attacks faster than wht it would normally do.. it's hard to pull off in normal combat, but you can test it yourself.
