Ok seems someone has hacked my account! First thing i noticed was all the 100's of vr5 blue foods gone and 100's of vr5 purple pots gone. Didn't even consider being hacked at this point, thought they were lost in the server migration. Never got the chance to check my money, as strangely, soon as i mentioned in zone chat i had lost some items, i was logged off with the notice that someone else had logged into the account. Ok, so alarm bells definitely ringing now. Went to check my account and i can't log in because the user/password have changed. Contacted support so i'm now waiting for their, hopefully quick response! I feel so violated!!!

    Ok checked my email now. Firstly i have a mail some 30 mins ago saying password update success, then another 2 emails a few mins later with a code for logging in with new ip address :(

    If you haven't already, submit a ticket - or even better a request for callback - as account security issues should be handled with highest priority. While this forum sometimes helps with long term issues, yours is of a more pressing nature and should be handled directly with a CSR, preferably chat or phone.

    Go to https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask?phone=1 and enter your details. Don't forget to select 'hacked account' and hopefully this mess will be resolved for you soon!

    Bank details are not displayed, even your email address will be blanked out other than a couple of letters.

    I'd double check everything, yep. But not on your computer, as long as you're not hundred percent sure you ain't got any malware on it. Use another, the phone or the antiquated walk and talk.

    It's very likely you gave away your log in credentials via a key logger. At least that's a rather common way. Could be you went to a malicious website as well. No matter the reason, you have to assume your PC being infected. To clean it and to be sure it stays that way, you should seek help of professionals.

    I believe both www.bleepingcomputer.com and www.techspot.com offer free service in this regard (I only ever used a German site, but those two seem similar). Make sure to read all introductory and instructions prior to posting your case.

    Do not rely on programs only! When your security has been breached you do need the expertise of people in the known.

    O.o you're the first person i've seen that has been "compromised"

    Hope they don't target me or they might steal my collection of worthless junk from around the globe plus about 500g in slightly broken weapons waiting to be researched.

    It's not a good feeling. I had it happen a while back on WoW, thankfully it was sorted promptly and I got everything back.

    Once it is sorted, set up a new email and be sure it is not attached to any social media or payment tools.

    I set up an email for each individual sub based mmo I play myself.

    I'm pretty careful, i think, regarding web security. I've been around pc's for years now, and this is the first time i've experienced something like this,, or had a virus.

    I have/had 100's of high end mats also, and a decent amount of coin :(

    I will set up new email and password etc, when this hopefully is resolved.

    The most important thing is to use a password that has never been used for anything anywhere else.

    For example, if you used the same password to register to some site 3 years ago that you completely forgot about in meantime, and that site got hacked 1 year ago, your login/password combination got into some database that today a 'hacker' bought, and now he simply goes down the list trying all the L/P combinations in it, hoping for a match.

    Keep this in mind. I often see people say 'i use the same password for every site, because it is SHHY~1772=h78, nobody could ever guess that!'. And then they wonder how they could possibly get hacked.

    I have created a new random password. CS contacted me and i'm now able to access my account info page, just waiting on them to change the account to the new email address they asked for.

    Ok. Can now get into game. Damage occured:

    VR12 NB had: 150k gold - Gold/purple/blue mats in everything - stacks of vr5 blue food. VR12 NB now has 601g and 6 useless items in inventory.

    VR8 Templar had: Roughly 50k gold - gold/purple.blue mats in enchant - 2 stacks of 100 vr5 food - 1x 100 vr5 purple pots, various other items. VR8 Templar now has 1200g and some useless crap in inventory.

    VR1 DK had: Roughly 50k gold - some mats and food. VR1 DK now has 10g.

    Is there a way to see where in game mail went to?

    Still waiting to hear from CS after i replied saying i was able to log in to game, and what items i had lost.

    And they also decided to let my chars die so there armour is at 0 and i have not enough or repairs :neutral_face:

    Just getting a bit miffed now. Sent 3 mails to zos stating what has happened, i.e, getting back into game, items missing etc, yet have had no reply. Before that they were pretty good, replying within 10 minutes.

    yea, the fist time I ever got hacked was in WoW, it's disheartening but hang in there, sounds like you're getting the help you need, more than likely your email has been compromised as well so take steps to fix that too.

    Zos, have been great regarding this, really have. Just received a mail saying they know when my acc was hacked and they will be returning my stolen goods.

    Just realised they have wiped all my in game contacts as well.

    So, hopefully closure on this. ZOS restored my stuff, all be it in gold ,but i'm more than grateful for their assistance on this! So ZOS support team, have a digital beer on me, especially Molly!

    Yeah im so relieved right now :) Have to cook me up some nice food buffs, even though they took all my ingredients, tomatoes, oats also :neutral_face:
