What you are all ignoring is the fact that it has been made clear that they are still working on the justice system and, in another thread today (can't remember which one), it was also made clear that there is not going to be world PVP.

I am well aware of the fact that it is currently a work in progress, and that it's not literally world pvp. You might be able to hunt someone down as a guard, but by no means will you see zergs of players fighting in open world. I'll still call it what I want though xD

Anyone who is for world wide 100% PVP is insane.

Down Asheron's Call... pay the one time fee of 9.99..... log on to Darktide (PVP server), Create a character and have fun!!!

Remember though, every death racks up vitae, which is a penalty against your stats... you also drop items on every death,,,, nothing like losing 1/2 your armor in one death.

Now enjoy your time in noob town,,,, don't mind the level 255's that roll through periodically to gank you over and over again.

Now go work off that vitae they gave you and hopefully they didn't loot your corpse and take stuff that you need.

Most of all, while running to your corpse for the umpteenth time after a gank fest, remember how much fun your having.

Need to go to town to restock.... better check that map and pray no one else is in town.

What an obnoxious troll thread. You come into a PvE forum to boast about the games potential demise by becoming Eve in Tamriel. The PvP forum wasn't good enough for you? This thread is full of EXACTLY why I and many, many others will unsub. It shows the true nature of the PvP player. Quite frankly I just do not like people like you. I will not associate with you in RL and I certainly will not do so here either.

***** ZOS could have had a gold mine with a subscription based solo online game with grouping and segregated PvP. *****

If it goes to being some Eve/WS/WoW/Etc mess you can bet that a large part of the base will exit. If the poll in the General Discussion is remotely accurate then 60% or more will take a hike. You can enjoy your gankfest while the game lasts without us.

Just shows how ignorant you are on the subject. Maybe if you would've done a little research you might have realized that this won't be anything like Eve.

Heh, this MMO was not advertised, promoted nor created to be a 'subscription based solo game...' with a few other tidbits thrown in as a bone.
It is not ES 6. It was publicized as an MMO set in a future ES setting from the gem of an idea originally designed with PvE grouping, PvPing and some solo-friendly questing. It is an MMO. It is NOT a subscription-based SOLO GAME.

Looking at the fresh new Justice System content coming up, I'd say the devs enthusiasm for PvP and PvE interweaving and meshing somewhat is a driving force in this MMO's first year. :#>:)

I'll just paste my post from another thread:

If ZeniMax will shove PvP up my throat, i will cancel my sub. I do not like PvP, I do not want PvP - and since I'm paying for the game, i DO want to have an option.

Active world PvP is not a bad thing, but in all my experience - especially in EVE - active world PvP turns to mindless ganking sooner than later.

So... have you PvP fun, I'm all for it - but if PvP is going to be done at the expense of PvE players - then... well, look above.

Proves the point that PVE and PVP can never exist equally in a single game world.

They have for 12 years in EvE online. It just needs to be implemented correctly

You can't be serious ? As much as I love EVE, and have been playing it for 5 years - EVE is one BIG ganking fest... PvE or crafters/gatherers can NOT exist equally, especially miners that are always getting shot down for pvpers amusement with no way of defending themselves.

Actually it is a wage against the odds with EvE which made it good... this bigger gain this more risk to it in a figure of speech... also bring friends idealogy meaning if they attack the miners, they would be vulnerable themself against attackers from the unseen enemy.

But the mentality in other MMO's wont be able to sustain it though, eve is awesome though :)

This one recalls as if it were yesteryear when we roamed the lands of pandora, on a little title called Ultima Online. It was a pvp only world. You didn't have to pvp but once you stepped outside the city limits you were fair game. This created a magical world with real world consequences. For instance the higher lvl characters would make a pretty penny escorting lower lvl toons inbetween towns or on a mining expedition. If it were an expedition the guards would get a cut of the proceeds. There were so many wonderful services created by the community. If you did pvp a toon who didnt engage your toon not only got a bounty but became a murderer and turned red. As a murderer you could no longer access npcs which meant you couldnt bank or sell loot or anything you needed to survive. So to make it fair, all gear was free game. If you were murdered the killer made off with all your gear. It was exhilirating. Eventually they made a town just for the murderers. This spawned raids where groups of good toons would ransack the murderer town and wipe them out. This wonderful, magical world came crashing down when they introduced a little stone you planted in the soil and a portal to a non pvp world identical to pandora opened up. overnight pandora became a barren waste and the west was no longer wild.

This should really tell something how much people like free open world pvp.

No, not really, justice system is good against bots as well... and even if someone hunt you down... you still got the chance to kill him/her back I assume... but a minimap would actually be a nice thing added on to this feature.

Interesting but things are left out......
1.) I am not sure how mmo = pvp; esp pvp poor behavior. To run around like simians killing everything; that would be an online first person shooter game where players can mindlessly kill other players with no depth of game play. A mmo... and oh the other half that seems to be left out.. 'rpg', is where many people with different gaming styles can play solo, in groups both small and large, to over come the challenges, on the same world. And can be either in pvp setting OR pve. So, if you like to just run around killing other players is your highlight, then go to the 1st person shooter games.
2.) The other suggestion made by these so called individuals.... lets see; telling people to avoid pvp players is to stealth.... you know the ability that makes you unseen to all BUT PLAYERS OF THE SAME FACTION.
3.) But most importantly they left out something.... they are busy recommending that pver's not become criminals so they do not have to worry about ganking. What the low-brows (if pve'ers are 'care bears' pvp'ers can be 'low-brows') are holding back is this. THEY intend to be the criminals and they will gank you as you are busy enjoying the game content. And most likely in packs. I know what will be said "oh don't flag yourself", or some other bs statement, along those lines. But all it takes is them stepping into (or if sorc. a pet) into your aoe.... then bang you are flagged. Also, since this is a game that allows add-ons, someone will program one that will flag you whether you want to or not. In either case you have to rez. at a shrine after all they will kill you again if you rez where you die. WRONG, the other 1/2 of the low brows will be at the shrine, and kill you again, and again, and again. To where you have little choice but to log off.
This is not just conjecture, this really did happen in a slightly different fashion in AoC. Thankfully it was a pvp server issue only, we will not have that option here.

Equally? Maybe not. I'd argue that the two side-by-side create the most interesting experience. PvP in most MMOs, even this one, is incredibly contrived fighting over imaginary points to have a "winner" over an arbitrary time period. It has no meaning. Also, zergs that promote no individual skill. Join the mass or die. Yay?

PvE tells a good story, but everything is so sterile and easy. Pick up quest, fight mob at specified location. Everything goes according to plan. No surprises. Get boring. Combine the two? You're suddenly plunged into a dynamic world where anything can happen =D

For those of you missing UO, I suggest UO: renaissance (and not UO Forever because of their shady practices and unofficial pay to win policy)

It's beautiful, there's even a guild of people who roleplay orcs and pvp with almost or no magic and only certain weapons and armor.

I made a thief there when I was getting bored with eso for a bit.

It's a good community for the most part.

Watch out for Lord Pork Fried Rice though, when he killed me, someone told me the reason he dismembered my body was to sort the organs in alphabetical order on display, and that's just messed up. :,(

    This is user generated content.
This is what makes a game good.
More of this tah very much.

I like suddenly seeing a din over my shoulder, then seeing half the guards chasing down a thief. It makes the game feel alive and random.
