Standardized names both in crafting and inventory

sungodapollo976_ESO
Frost staff in crafting, Ice staff in inventory. Battleaxe in crafting, 2h ax in inventory. Hammer in crafting, Mace in inventory.. Ect,Ect
Why in Talos name can't they pick a damn name and stick with it for these things.
How hard is it to agree on a name and or change it?

Well, frost and ice are not that dissimilar.
A Battleaxe IS a Two Handed Axe.

But a Mace is not a Hammer, true there was a degree of overlap between maces, hammers and warpicks, but they were also different things.
People believe what they either want to be true or what they are afraid is true!

They just need one standard and stick with it. Plain and simple.
    End of line....

    Why all the hate?
You'll just stir up the fanbois like kids on a sugar rush.

It's probably something simple, like the dev in charge of coordinating names was short, and as such his head wasn't visible above the cubicles when they were prairie-dogging and discussing names of weapons.

So we ended up with no coordination.

They'll prolly get to that in the 3rd or 4th year, and put all those website guides on the ropes.

Ya just gots to haz the faiths.....

    What hate??

One person has expresses displeasure at the mismatch, and I've said the only real mismatch is the Mace/Hammer thing, because they aren't the same.

It's all been very mild and polite.

    Sorry.
    I was being facetious.

I'll admit to being mildly annoyed by the differences as well. When trying to make up my research spreadsheets, etc. it's a pain when the different weapon classes have different names depending on where you look. Some consistency would have admittedly been nice.

Agreed, consistancy would help, but mostly it's not a huge leap.

Each weapon has two names, the name of the item and the item group it belongs to.

Eg a Hammer of Kicking Ass belongs to the weapon group called maces.
A battleaxe of fire belongs to the group of 2 hands axes.

But the interface does need a little work as it swaps between the name and the 'family' and this makes things messy.

Log it as a bug so at least its on their radar of things to fix

Actually I find the different terms for different motifs harder to track..... bone, maccaw, etc .

I'd like to see each tier of each material with one name, with the motif modifier at the end.

Or just listed in its tool tip (which i recommend anyhow)

I totally agree with that as well, you have a valid point.
