True, server don't handle player movement in detail, it just check it, checking player position then harvesting an node has to be done anyway, if player is below the node then harvesting he has a problem, yes you can surface and then go down again so you check position 1 second before and after. This can also be phasing bugs, the only places I have seen this lately is in towns while disappearing resources was far more common on lower levels.eMost of the hackers are now using Z-Plane hacks. You won't ever see them. You will hear them plinking on the ore or wood, but not see them. They are below ground. You know they have been there when you find 'empty' resource nodes. Ones that vanish when you try to harvest them.
I was wondering what the heck happened when the resource vanished in front of me right when I was about to harvest it!
Add that underground bots are easy to catch, just being underground is prof of hacking so you can ban without looking for bot behavior.
yes they exist but phasing bugs is probably more common.
The reason its not that easy:
The server gets player location information from the client.
Client tells the server its in a certain spot.
Server believes client.
Server isnt designed to handle player movement. Too much load. This was a bad practice.
Hackers feed false location info into memory so the server thinks youre in a legitimate location but you actually arent.
Hard to detect and ban that when they don't even process the information server side.
Make some sense, depending on if the node resets or just respawn as you say. Might be smart to pick all and dump in guild bank for other who level alchemy.I don't know if they actually nerfed the the spawn rates of some flowers but I think that the problem is partially of our own making (including myself). Let me explain.
Ever since I maxed my alchemy, I've been somewhat selective on the flowers I pick up. Especially when questing and with a semi full inventory, I only gather certain flowers (yes, Columbine, Mountain Flower and Bugloss, I'm talking about you).
So, imagine an area that has 10 flower spawn points and columbine is on the spawn list with 30% chance. At first, let's say 3/10 are columbines. If I only pick them and not the others, when those 3 points respawn, we end up with 1 columbine. If I pick that one on my way back to the quest giver, there are no columbines left.
Edit: The problem was less apparent a month ago, because when we where leveling our alchemy, me and lots of others, gathered everything. /Edit.
I know there are dedicated people that gather everything but if you happen to farm besides me, I'm the one who drops the chances.
Maybe we need dedicated crafting material bags and bank spaces.
Was on two different starter islands today, and couldn't find a bot anywhere. Moreover, resources were all over the place.
I have this feeling the bots not only teleport but they fly away with them with super speed.
The bot problem in this mmo is just killing me!
Maybe we need dedicated crafting material bags and bank spaces.
don't know why but this post makes me think of this songhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15SIu84TDSQ&feature=kp

I get a steady stream of plant nodes of all kinds when I go to the appropriate areas, have done forever. Bots rarely go for these nodes as there were too many different mats, they hoover up cloth, wood and ore because in any zone there are only 1 or two types of each.
I do see the occasional 'legit' player clearly botting this stuff but I don't think I've ever seen a level 2/3 bot do so.
