To further that, I can pretty much guarantee not one single person stays in any zone until it's 100% complete before moving on. I mean EVERY single quest, entire map white, 100% of the zone achievements (some aren't even finished within a single zone), etc. It could literally take weeks to months in one zone just to get it 100% including achievements, this is why players go back.david271749 wrote: »
Not everyone completes a zone the first time through. That thinking is too linear for TES players.
You can't 100% guarantee that..cause I stay in a zone till it's 100% done. I'm a completionist.

Of course you will see V12 in low level zones.Personally I'm leveling blacksmithing and provisioning what i just started so i have to be in starter zones. Also finding new anchors and world bosses now so i just do them.
The Vet content was too difficult for them so the went to crag to grind anomalies and level the easy way . Now the achievements are worth something they are all coming back to ruin everyone else's game.
It seems to me that a group of friends are simply going back and helping each other complete parts of the map they missed while leveling.
I don't see anything wrong with that personally. Yeah it can be kind of annoying, but the whole world doesn't belong to you(or anyone else).
Personally, I enjoy soloing dolmens and world bosses, it gives me a sense of accomplishment to solo veteran dolmens my same level(v9) as a 2hand/bow NB.
the only prob with high ranked players doing the low level ones is that new players barely get enough time to make a hit before they are closed. they get nothing if they dont register enough damage or if a healer they are screwed as they cant make enough heal to count. it would be courteous if high ranks would just wait a few seconds and let the low levels get a few whacks in, but I doubt most would, its their game time as well.
the good news is that dolmens spawn pretty fast and regular

I have 2 generals left and less than 40 anchors left for the 250 acheivement. I don't use my heavy spells in the low zones and I try to not be so grabby with the kills. *cough*

Call me a completionist, but I do. I dont really want to "have to" come back at some point. I'd rather know the zone is done and dusted. Aside the group dungeons as I solo.
The problem is lower level players get no joy from participating while you slaughter everything in sightAdmitted it is nice to watch if I am not participating

I have been coming across anchors in the world and it seems that right when they spawn I see like six or seven high levels (mostly v 12) going after them. I think I hit a few of the creature before they go down but why the heck are v 12's are v 12's in places like shadowfen and deshan doing anchors? aren't there some in the veteran levels they could do and leave the leveled anchors to us folks who don't have the level to do them other places?
Anyone else get real confused by the title and think pve mobs were killing off dolmens?
yes. and when I found out this was about some people VR12 going to low pve zones to get achievements. I thought 'why did I come here ??'
Some people do their achievements great. Is it having an impact on your experience ? no. why ? because these anchors respawn pretty fast. Not a reason to post on the forum. Period.
Achievements
Generals
Fighter Guild XP
And it does not effect anyone else. Everyone there gets credit as long as you don't stand AFK. Get in there, hit something or throw out a heal. You only need to hit one creature in the event to get full credit for the Dolmen.
There is no Tag system is ESO as in other MMOs. Everyone gets full credit for the kill even if you only do one point of damage to the creature.

Ditto, as far as I'm aware I've been fully completing one area before moving on to the next. Turning everything to white, getting all lore/shards.
That said, this thread does confirm something I've long suspected.
1. A significant percentage of players don't care about achievements. (I'm one of them, I may be a bit of competionist when it comes to doing things I want to do, but when it comes to stupid stuff like fishing or whatnot, I could care less)
2. Adding rewards to achievements just results in reducing how much fun people get out of your game. (apparently in more ways than one)

However... I have also seen VR12s jumping in and without any concern for the unfortunate lowbies around trying to get their freaking job done, starting spamming their uber skills one-shooting everything in micro-seconds. I call this a pathetic display of "asshattery".
On the other hand I have also seen powerful VRs, who are a lot more helpful and "compassionate", who while trying to get credit for their own achievement, will actually help the lowbies complete their task, either by providing healing support, using moderate dps so that the lowbies can get a few hits on mobs, gain and hold the aggro of anchor mobs, and so on. Hats off to those chaps!
In the end, it all depends on the person. Either you are a **** and act accordingly or you are not. "Increased power brings increased responsibility", but not when you are a jerk.
In fact, it all depends on the low level player. Either he has no idea what he's doing and I don't see why I should waste time with him (specially when you know all the info is available out there with google), either he knows what he is doing and he actually seizes the moment and the effortless free experience points that are handed to him on silver plater.
To you they might be jerks. To them you're probably just a noob.

some of us, I believe, want to do the work to get the credit. With great risk comes great reward.
