That makes a lot of sense. Thats what i hate about this game, everything is too expensive, especially for lower levels. Thanks a lot ESO, can you guys get anything right for once.

You guys need to make things like this and armor repairs and travel to wayshrines more affordable. Theres no reason why this should be so *** expensive at level 12. If you guys dont get your heads out of your rears there wont be any ESO because nobody will put up with this nonsense. Come on the game has potential, can't you do anything right. This game is blasphemy against the Elder Scrolls name and you all should be ashamed.

Travel to wayshrines is free if done from another wayshrine. There aren't any wayshrines that are so far away that you can't run to one if you need to travel somewhere.

Repairing armor is a waste at level 12. Either let it decay or replace it with dropped armor. You replace armor so often at low levels that repairing it is a complete waste of money.

There are very, very few gold sinks in this game and you'll have more money than you can spend very shortly.

I agree that respecs in the game at current are too expensive because ZoS took the all-or-nothing approach but that's changing soon so it's moot.

Wayshrines are free to use, or a small fee to travel from open world TO a WS that even at VR8 is only 146 gold (the first time). The reason it's stupid expensive each time after is they don't want to you always just open map and hit travel to WS. It's a perfectly logical and viable system. The cost of the 2nd or beyond decays pretty quick back down to the base.

Repairing armor is NOT expensive at all. If you are dying so much that repair bills are making you broke at level 12, then maybe you need to rethink how you play the game.

Is there a game that gives you all the money you need at the early levels? Money is always tight up to level 10 to 12. By then you either understand how to make money (questing, looting mobs and selling what you can't use) or you have figure out the game.

My first character was always broke until about level 15. My second and third characters had multiple thousands of gold by level 6 or 8
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

my 3rd alt already at lvl 20 has 65k of gold on her :)

the thing is, its only the first char thats has no gold, since you using it all on bank upgrades and mounts, when bank is at 240 bank space, and you satisfied with the mount.

the only real reason to spend gold is, repair

Aside from the normal killing, looting and quest rewards, I found making and food/drink goods from provisioning turned over a nice profit for me. You should be trying to level provisioning anyway, (it's cheaper then buying food all the time), so make gold off your extra supplies. You can do the same thing from enchanting and alchemy, but some people won't want to spend skill points there. Saving up for the big expenses, horse, bank slots, etc, is a pain but there are plenty of ways to make gold in the game.

my respec fee is upwards of 26k (haven't checked recently) well before level 12 my alts were running around with 3 and 4k of gold they made themselves.

It only becomes prohibitive once you actually have a lot of skills.

It was all part of the palomino horse money making agenda at the beginning. Now that they cow has been milked and there is bread on the table with butter, so to speak we can expect the gold cost of things to stabilise as per the cost reduction announcement.

That's fine I like the game and bought the horse, it was my choice, but please for gods sake why can't I level it past 50, I paid a tenner for this thing.

Soul gems are another thing thats unreasonable expensive. I can deal with that i guess but what this game really needs is an auction house, thats a must, and some kind of grouping tool for dungeons would be nice too.

Sorry, totally disagree with the OP.

If anything, things in this game are too -cheap-. There is a lack of money-sinks, for sure.

As others have explained, wayshrine-to-wayshrine travel is FREE.
Even clicking on a wayshrine and traveling directly to it is what... 100 gold?

You don't start the game with tons of gold, and that's how it -should- be.

EARN gold. Don't expect everything to be given to you on a platter named 'entitlement'. Soon, you'll have more gold than you know what to do with.

in keeping with what lore we had in morrowind everything was very very expensive and took a very long time to purchase.
daedric items were only found by killing daedric creatures or searching daedric caves. once found tho, a daedric dagger would go for 10,000 but those daedric long swords were upwards of 80,000
from what i see in eso i would say that eso is low cost compared to morrowind's cost of items.

    i do miss morrowind ....
