It's that time again for our favorite poll.

Now that the game is in its 4th month, I thought it would be a good time to see what type of players have settled into the game and are still subscribed.

I'm a TES fan. I purchased ESO because it is set in the Elder Scrolls Universe.

I think they aimed for being a little of both but missed the mark, BUT with the upcoming additions I think they are going to be on target in a few months time.

Then again more people seem to like single player MMOs so I could be in the minority when wishing for more group content.

I like to quest solo. But I also enjoy grouping up with guildies to do things like dungeons and anchors and world bosses and eventually the Trials. I think it's good that ESO has both. I know there are some people who wish they could solo everything but I'm not one of them. I like to have a reason to group up with others. I enjoy the social aspect of it.

As a long time MMO player and a Morrowind enthusiast I was extremely ecstatic about the prospect of a game which combined my two favourite things. However, while the game looks like and is obviously set in TES universe it doesn't play like a TES game. It Frankenstein's aspects of both an MMO and TES but doesn't really perfect either. I still have extremely high hopes for the game and will be actively playing it, levelling alts, grinding achievements and maxing bloody enchanting.

All in all the future looks bright, spell crafting seems awesome and if they ever make a Stamina equivalent, goodbye classes and hello an actual TES feeling game (don't get me wrong, I like my classes.. But If I'm a Sorcerer with a Daedric Summoning tree and everyone can summon a Flame Atronach.. What's the point? Also there's no Necromancer class or Lich world skill line, but I'll be patient).

Let's hope ZeniMax takes charge and things change.

I've played two ES games and two MMOs.

I'm happy with the combination of the two, even if it feels like something different from either of them.

I like MMOs. I've never played TES games before (just been watching occassionally my other half's Oblivion/Skyrim gameplay) but I must admit I've really started to like the lore and the universe. Maybe there will be room for other TES games in future. :)

I tried a couple of MMOs prior to this but quickly became bored. Been a fan of the TES games for a number of years.

When I started playing ESO, initially I approached it pretty much the same as Skyrim, except with co-op, exploring the world and doing quests with friends.

Then I got into the PVP and now I try to avoid the PVE content in order to spend more time in Cyrodiil, which feels a bit more like a sandbox environment.

If the single-player TES games allowed cooperative play, wife and I would likely not have bought and subscribed to ESO.

I did play many MMOs , but i dont really love the genre enough that im willing to try them at random anymore. I did not even try wildstars for example.

I decided to have another go in ESO because of the TES lore and this is why im here.

Heh , not like many of the other MMOs i played , this one i play mostly solo, with the very few times where i had to group.

I like competitive shooters on console so I am a fan of multiplayer, but not of the MMO genre. I feel there are too many expectations attached to the label of MMO, and that games are perfectly capable of being awesome without those features. I am a big TES fan from Oblivion and Skyrim, which is why I looked forward to seeing one of my favorite single player games go online. I am a strong supporter of a massive Skyrim online instead of a WoW clone.

I've always been wary of MMOs, but I really wanted to see all these new regions of Tamriel! So far, I've been pleasantly surprised at how ESO has countered my previous stereotypes of MMO-style play.

It's not as good as any elder scrolls game, and it never will be. However, it can still be an OK game that is fun to play.

Dungeon Siege, Xenogears and Metal Gear Solid are the only single player games I've ever enjoyed. I find single player games try to involve you in a poorly written story, that I have no empathy towards the characters ( much prefer novels ). I also tend to get real bored being in an expansive world with only myself, it is way to static.

Having said that I at least tried, albeit briefly, Morrowind and Skyrim, and found the world and races very enjoyable. So, I was excited about an MMO and have subscribed..

In some areas it's too much TES and others too much MMO...and even after four months it's still hard to say if it's balancing out in a manner that I would want to continue to pay for.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

unfortunately they sent a single player game to do an MMO's job and failed as bad or worse then Bioware did.

This game was really a compromise. I wanted a co-op RPG in the high fantasy genre that had strong lore, diverse gameplay and a truly interactive world. (Elder Scrolls games generally having all but the co-op.) My boyfriend wanted an MMO that I'd actually play. (SWTOR made me sleepy and annoyed by turns.)

For me it's all about immersion and I can be immersed whether I'm playing Elder Scrolls by myself or if I'm doing PvP with other players. It's all good.

Both here, and still enjoying the game, which definitely gives me a TES 'vibe'.

Still lots of work to do for Zeni, but overall, a very promising start, in my opinion.

I was eager to see some of the lands that we haven't seen before (well outside of arena).

While I may remain subscribed for now, their road ahead developments look like any significant increase in areas of Tamriel will likely be years down the road.

As I am closing on finishing all of the content twice spread evenly across 6 characters.. I probably will put my subscription on hold for quite awhile. When they add a lot more areas, quests, and more character slots I will return providing other games aren't more interesting those many years down the road.
