mobs of high levels doing anchors?

I have been coming across anchors in the world and it seems that right when they spawn I see like six or seven high levels (mostly v 12) going after them. I think I hit a few of the creature before they go down but why the heck are v 12's are v 12's in places like shadowfen and deshan doing anchors? aren't there some in the veteran levels they could do and leave the leveled anchors to us folks who don't have the level to do them other places?

    They probably got to VR12 using some glitch and now they're going back to play the game they skipped over.

    It sucks, those people are rude to do that. I always try to sit out when I'm in a lower level area as veteran rank.

    Guilty here lol, I was running around grabbing all the ones I missed while leveling so I can get achievements for dyes.

    There's a ton of reasons to be doing them. Achievement hunting is one, leveling The Fighter's Guild to 10 is another, leveling abilities another (if they're in Coldharbour and above) since anything lower won't help a Veteran character. Also, not sure if it's made it to live yet, but there's the rare drops needed for certain achievements that are specific enemy based.

    All you have to do is make sure to even barely participate and you'll get full credit for closing the Anchor and will get access to the chest at the end, no need to be upset about Vets coming in on low level Dolmens.

    It seems unlikely to me that V12s wouldn't already be at Fighter's Guild 10, but then again I guess if someone got to V12 through grinding it's possible that the grinding didn't include a lot of daedra.

    I spent last nite leveling my level 30 doing boss mobs, anchors, and dungeons with my VR7 friend leading the way.

    Same here. I have done over 100 Dolmen so far and only have killed 5/16 Generals. I have been actively going to dolmens to get them.

    Not everyone completes a zone the first time through. That thinking is too linear for TES players.

    I admit that I'm also guilty of this. In my defense, I didn't "blow through" content, there have just been some dolmens I inadvertently missed (and even more world-bosses that were bugged for the longest time). I try very hard to make sure that everyone can tag mobs, participate, and get credit.
    Because of the current rush to get missed achievements, I'm sure we're going to see more of this happening. I would highly suggest you just ask in chat that these people slow down a bit for you. I know there are some *** out there that won't care, but I think the majority of high level players will gladly slow down a bit to make sure you get your credit, if you just let them know.

    There were so many bugs and bots at release that many of the quests were either impossible to complete or just to frustrating. Safe Haven was a perfect example. Every time some one entered the room they would draw agro and you would have to wait for the quest to reset. Players would be huddled under the stairs and new players would run right by them into the room. It took days to complete this quest finally Zos gave us a hotfix. It was still pretty funny how clueless some people can be when 30 people are sneaking under the stairs and not stop to ask why.

    As has been stated, achievements. This is what happens when players miss content and the devs suddenly apply significant meaning to the achievements associated with that content.

    My main hit V1 getting the discovery for Coldharbour. And I wasn't going the extreme route to do 'everything.' There are still many low level Dolmens that I passed by on that character, due to them not being active when I passed by. I'll surely be going back to get those achievements as I have a crafter.

    In this case the fault doesn't really lie with the players. No one is intentionally griefing. They are making sure they have their ducks lined up for Update 3. Suppose the good news is that it will be a short lived rush.

    To further that, I can pretty much guarantee not one single person stays in any zone until it's 100% complete before moving on. I mean EVERY single quest, entire map white, 100% of the zone achievements (some aren't even finished within a single zone), etc. It could literally take weeks to months in one zone just to get it 100% including achievements, this is why players go back.

    I have went back and done some that I missed but out of respect to other players I limit myself to healing only so they can have an actual fight...

    As a level 30 if I run into VR12s at a low level dolmen all I do is run to the anchor points and destroy them when they're ready. I try to tag mobs but that's tough if there's 3+ VR12 there. Destroying an anchor point gives me credit and at least now you get the loot chest, at launch if this happened you'd get nothing.

    It's a little frustrating but I think it's a trend that will pass once the current batch of high levels have got the achievements they need for the dyes they want.

    in my case i also forgot about dolmen a lot and we didn't have some of the addons which tell us where everything is like we do now :). Also i have often ran off if there was none around to help me out.

    I will be HONEST here. Most of the vet level dolmens are empty and impossible to do alone. I have zero waiting time on the lower level dolmens because I can do them alone. I have 2 generals left and less than 40 anchors left for the 250 acheivement. I don't use my heavy spells in the low zones and I try to not be so grabby with the kills. *cough*

    As long as you are not the guy going around killing lower level players by helping at first then stopping as they grab the later tougher mobs to watch them die.

    Who does that? I'm stay and attack the bigger hostiles and I'm there until the last anchor closes. I don't run and attack every small spawn of zombies and clanfears.
    I sometimes even switch to healing. :pensive:

    Of course you will see V12 in low level zones.Personally I'm leveling blacksmithing and provisioning what i just started so i have to be in starter zones. Also finding new anchors and world bosses now so i just do them.

    my apologies, and in no way do i mean to offend any low level person or persons. when i was level 10 i loved pvp and i loved cryodiil alot more then the main story so i stayed there and i got to level v12 in cryodiil, and im trying to catch up on the achivements so i can have cool colors choices for my armor by getting all the daedric princes and stuff killed as achievements. nothing more.
    same thing goes for the mages guild quests and fighters guild questlines and all the rest of stuff needed to be unlocked. :)

    The Vet content was too difficult for them so the went to crag to grind anomalies and level the easy way . Now the achievements are worth something they are all coming back to ruin everyone else's game.

    BTW they are not mobs. The term mob refers to NPC's

    The term mobs applies to anything non player and killed for exp. It's a staple mmo term. Dating back to MUDs, a shortened form of mobiles. Referring to any object that isn't stationary. NPCs are different from mobs. Plus the op was using it to imply many.

    Zeni implements scaling lvl so high rank players are about the same - only little bit higher in stat as the zone they are in => problem solved

    NPC = non-player character
    Mob (mobile) = entitiy that moves about (normally enemy NPCs/monsters)

    It's obvious the OP was using the English definition and not the gaming jargon.

    I have gone back to low level areas and done a few missed anchors or bosses before.. I dont normally bother killing the mobs though (apart from the end guys) and just wait around or heal.

    I am VR3 and have plenty of anchors to go back and do - but if I do them I'll make sure any lower level players are not disadvantaged and are allowed to get hits in.

    I am going back and doing some big map bosses too - in fact I have helped out there a couple of times when there were just a couple of lower level players who would have got mushed into the sand without me being there.

    Lower and higher level players can all get along fine on the same map as long as we show each other a bit of respect and realise neither of us have exclusive rights to anything - it's an MMO after all.

    the anchors were bugged the last time those Vet players were actually the correct level for that zone - so now they're going back to get the achieveables
