What to do with the lvl 35 - 40 purple recipes ?

I now have 7 purple recipes, 3 drink lvl 35, two food lvl 35 and two food lvl 40

Some are using ingredients from an other faction (i am on AD)
One uses oats. Another tomatoes, the best pepper
My main is now lvl 47, i have a bunch of purple 50 food, so learning them would not be usefull at the moment

I am wondering if i should keep them and see if i can still use them after the provisioning changes or sell them now

I have like 60 tomatoes and oats and peppers, but dont know if they will all go stale and useless. (And i have to start hoping for new ingredients from my hireling haha)

I read somewhere that faction specific ingredients like frog legs and ash millet will go, so that makes me want to hang on to them, because it makes them more valuable to more players, if they still work after the changes that is.

I was hoping for some advice from people. Thanks very much.

I too have put Provisioning on hold until the changes are announced. I have one character at Prov50, the other two are at 30 or so with Provisioning. I have even respecced the points out of the Provisioning skill line until the change comes.

I still learn the recipes as I don't think those will go away, at least I hope.

Very little concrete info has been announced, and not date yet. Their current idea is that ALL ingredients will go stale, frog legs and oats alike. However, this might change in the future.
Personally, I'm not stashing any valuable mats right now.

I think that I would, at least, try to sell all the duplicates or extras from the same level.

It sounds like many of the recipes are going to be combined with no more faction specific materials. So, everything from the same level could end up being the same.

    Who knows, though.

I'm a completionist. If i find a recipe my main does not know yet, i simply have to learn it, logic be damned :)

Oats and tomatoes always come only from hirelings. Pepper is rare but _nothing_ is faction bound. I also know where there are grocers, they sell these things, well except tomatoes and oats.

I can make anything. My son and I use the blue 2 stat 1 hour foods all the time. That at any level they occur at. I have level 20 ones I feed to my low level chars and level 35 ones my lead gets and level 50 for my VR3 son.

He found a Consummate Sweetroll recipe and gave it to me. We each have 20 of that VR5 food now and I can make a pile more.

It's going to be quite a while before the Provisioning changes take place, but people still need food right now. I say learn those recipes and craft away.

I am stoked about the change but I would like to use up the stuff I have. People need time to muck around and craft the stuff they have before the items become "Stale" as they say rofl!
I have material for tons of purple food but no recipe and 0 gold to buy the imperial material to complete it even. And I can make tons of Blue by the stacks if I had gold as i have looked for recipes for a very long time. I was punished by not grinding recipes early as it seems nearly impossible to get now.
This will take time and people need to know to tie up loose ends or there will be many lost subs I believe. Many casual players do not keep up on patches so they need to be informed in big yellow letters all the time before their groceries become "Stale" ROFL!
That's like coming home for the weekend and your fridge was left open! Or even more so being robbed almost completely of a resource you once had in the game with out reasonable warning. That can really ruin ones fun.

I love the idea :) Developers do this now and fast and start telling people in a MAIL to tie up loose ends now. No reason to wait.

I would recommend study what you don't know already and sell the rest. This level purples will go for ~50k each or so.

I have four Vet level characters from V1 to V7, one started in each alliance, and I have never seen a purple recipe and I look in every container every time. My lvl 50 provisioner has most of the blues but not a single purple.

On a side note I have found over a 100 pepper.

Anyone have a link for the provisioning changes?

NVM found it and some points look frightening

I know you said you found it, but in case others haven't:

And I agree, that I'm more worried than confident about the changes, but to read that thread, everyone seems to be blindly assuming it's going to be all sunshine and rainbows.

egads, I had no idea of these changes. right now my bank is full of primarily provisioning mats as I had already shifted to alts the other craft stuffs. I mainly was just hoarding the rare mats in the very slim chance I would find a good recipe. now that seems a waste of time with these changes. bah

oh well, now i can just clear out my bank slots for other crap

I decided to learn them and sold the ones that were for the same level.
This way i could help my son who has respecced 6 times over the last 10 days and spend 60 k in the process.
I also made him 6 different crafted sets in the process, all upgraded to blue. He wore then no longer than two days.

As strange as this might seem to OCD hoarders like me (storage and inventory simulator online)

He is pretty much on the ball because he has now leveled up many different weapons and skills lines and intends to do so untill v5 (he is v2 atm)

So maybe this mmo is going to be less about collecting riches and more about adapting to constant changes...

    Time will tell

I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to dump stuff until I actually see the new provisioning. You never know what may or may not have future value. It would really suck to dump stuff in anticipation, only to find out there was a conversion to like mats when it hits live.
