Patch 1.3 and respecs

Hi All,

I thought I read somewhere that respect costs will be reduced, or changed. Is this true...and will it be part of 1.3?

I did see on the PTS that the made respecs cost 1 gold, but was only for PTS and not going live.

Zeni stated at their QuakeCon Panel that respec costs will be drastically reduced for a period of time in order to play around with all the skill changes wich are about to be introduced. After this period of time, the costs will be raised again but still stay lower than the actual prices are. Also they announced that you'll be able to only respec morphed skills in the future instead of all of your skills wich makes respeccing cheaper too.

Regarding the question if this will be part of 1.3, i think so, at least the cost reduction, but iam not 100% sure on that point.

Yeah, was about to pay 20K plus to change 1 morph...think I'll wait a bit heh

Here is the note from Devs

General •The cost to respec has been reduced to 1 gold per skill point or stat point. Note that this is a temporary change to prepare for Update 3 to go live, and is not permanent.

I believe this is ONLY for the PTS, and will not go live...

Well at the QuakeCon they talked about something like 100gp / respec for that special introduction period of the new / changed skills.

Well, it won't hurt then to wait about a month to do a respec just to see what the changes to skills and cost will be. Anyone doing a respec now is just wasting gold because you'll probably want to do one again after 1.3 goes live no matter what the cost.

It got minimized, have to click on the plus. Someone asked "1gold a skillpoint? So 200g total to respec my sorc! Sweeeeet!" click on the + below to open additional comments. Not sure how hers got buried in there but...

It will go live, but will also be just a temporary cost difference to accommodate all the ability changes to your build.

yeah, found this quote from QuakeCon interviews.

Q: The gold sink is way to high to play different specs. Do you have any plans at all to ajust the price of respecs?

A: Yes. For the first week of update 3, respec costs will be SUPER cheap. After that, it will be brought up to a reduced price (Around 25 percent of what it is now). The last thing being added is being able to respec just morphs, which will be extremely cheap.
