Endless "Requesting character load" - bug?

So, a couple of times today, I've had to force close and restart ESO to log in properly. When I clicked "Play", it would come up with the message saying "Requesting character load", but it would never actually load. This has never happened before today, so I'm wondering if it's something server-side. Maybe just primetime lag?

Probitas✭✭✭Had it happen on occasion, one time I let it sit for about 20 minutes waiting, and it just timed out. Too much activity is my theory, and you lost your connection, and the client doesn't handle that error properly by forcing a relog. I know when I shut down and start over it always gets me in.0 -
rbenkepub19_ESO✭✭✭I've run into this problem when I've logged out to the character selection screen for a long period of time (hours or days), then tried to go back into the game from the character selection screen. The solution is to exit the game entirely and start it again.0
