** Ideas on fixing design issues with PvP/AvA **

There are a few flaws inherent in the design of AvA / PvP, and this thread is to discuss ideas on how to fix them.

1. Off-peak Raids
Problem: This flaw has to do with "off hours" raiding of scrolls and Emperor Keeps. "Off hours" simply means times when the overall PvP population of that campaign is low. It may vary campaign to campaign, and from US to EU, but the concept is the same.

Solution: Implement "Population-based Control Locks". The idea is that a Keep or Scroll is un-capturable unless a certain population level exists within that campaign. This can be a hard number (for example, minimum of 100 players of all 3 factions), or can be some sort of percentage (the populations of all 3 factions must be within 10% of each other) or any other way to implement the control factor. But the idea is to mandate that important things like Emperorship and Scrolls cannot be "ninja'd in the middle of the night". The "status" of this must be visible, similar to the "The Gate of XXX is now open" messages, and would state clearly that "The Battle for Control of Cyrodiil is now engaged" or something like that, to let players know Emp Keeps and Scrolls are capturable or not. Maybe even something visual, like an icon somewhere on the Map (M key) which shows this status.

2. Forward Camp Teleporting
Problem: any PvP death allows a player to revive at any forward camp anywhere on the entire map, leading to creative strategies to teleport players across a map "invisibly and instantly" by simply using lots of camps and everyone suiciding somewhere. This is really "cheese-ball" tactics.

Solution: Add a second "radius" circle to Camps. The second circle should be much larger, almost the distance between two keeps. You can then only use a camp if you die within its second radius.

3. Oil "exploiting"
Problem: I used "" around "exploiting" because I mean it in the literal sense, not "cheating". Anyone can drop an Oil and activate it, just about anywhere, and kill groups of players. It is nearly impossible to "interrupt" someone who is using oil.

Solution: Do not change the "activation" part of using oil, but add a "Cast bar" to the initial "Use" of oil. In other words, if you have Oil in your quickslot, and you hit your quickslot button, have a "Cast bar" to drop that oil, and allow that to be interruptable.

This will have NO EFFECT on people using oil for defending keeps, but will prevent people from dropping oil in open-field PvP to kill groups (completely unrealistic and stupid).

Feel free to add your own, or comment on the above.

    I agree with number 2 and 3.

But i think (1) you are just be self centered and think the world revolves around your time. Remember when you are sleeping its the middle of the day for other people in other time zones, why should they not get to play the same cyrodiil game you get to play and capture keeps? Also alot of people work the night shift and sleep during day hours so their time to play the game isnt the same as you

I think you should re-read 1 again. Nothing is preventing them from capturing Emperor/Scrolls during their play time - so long as the population is enough to allow it. No one, however, can do so when there is no defense against it.
