What effect would Crouch Hidden being removed from the game have?

I know it's in line with Skyrim etc but i'm curious about the communities opinion on this prospect.

If we all had to run around Cryodil in plain sight, how might this change PvP?

In PvE if mobs could LOS you from 50m away and agro their buddies, how might that change the fighting dynamic?

Could such a thing prove better or is it a doomed idea from the start?

Kinda destroys the whole concept of the justice system if only one class can sneak

I have to say removing my ability to sneak in PvE (I am a not a pvp person) would completely change my way of playing.

I'm a nightblade stamina bow build and I rely on my ability to sneak past mobs to get to the bosses in solo delves. I would not be able to do anything in higher level vet zones without it. I think that my stealth is currently the only thing keeping my build viable/fun. (I'm also a role player and being alone in the game a lot of the time is just part of what I do, it adds to my experience. To take that away from me would change the story of my character and the story of me entirely)

I have always played as a stealth character with a bow in previous elder scrolls games. I would not feel like this was an elder scrolls game if I could not sneak and incorporate that into my combat and dungeon tactics. The only reason I am even playing this game is because of the series it stems from and I want to keep it as close to its history as possible.

I am also really looking forward to using my sneak ability with the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild content when it comes out. They go together like bread and butter, and are a huge part of why I like the elder scrolls.

Vamps would become useless without sneak no feeding. It would take away from the fun of watching people sneak around the zones just to have a player run by and draw all the agro to interrupt the sneaky guy. Kind of like removing the prey stealing chain pull from DK's. Ah good times, good times..

So you hate NB class & want to break it even more? :p. I suppose it would include less skill, less sneaky tactics, render detection potion useless and make the game more straightforward, less fun...

Obviously it is a bad idea. The only people who could do pvp would be those who run in a zerg. Solo-ists and small groups would be snowplowed whenever a zerg comes through.

No matter what class I am playing, I use the damage from stealth, not for sneaking though.

I may quit if they remove the damage from crouch, my #1 opening move.

If it was removed from Cyrodiil it would really hurt the small man and solo play, they rely on sneaking to avoid enemy zergs and groups. If it was removed you would mostly only see people traveling in zergs and not leaving keeps or resources as often

It would increase brute-force, mind-numbing, button-mashing, at the expense of actually using your brain to play.

    NO.
Opinions are like buttholes : Everybody has one, and they usually stink.

    3 things to reduce stamina/magicka imbalance :
    - Use magicka to block abilities costing magicka, instead of stamina.
    - Add % damage reduction to heavy armor.
    - Add block penetration to 2H.

    I agree with no.

Every body should have the chance at a powerful opener if their willing to put the time and risk into sneaking into position, and as mentioned vamps require sneaking to feed so there is that problem.

I love sneaking. One of the first things I did when I got out of coldharbor at the beginning was to explore all five zones. In anywhere other than stonefalls, theis required an artful blend of sneaking and sprinting.

It was fun, and terrifying. Mostly fun. like, 99% fun and 1% terrifying.

Or maybe the other way around...

I for one disagree that they should remove it , i expect all players to get a shot at it , this is what both the thieves and DB guilds should allow.

In the end , this is one of the few features that are unique to ESO , not a good idea to mess with it.

sneak is a beautiful mechanic and i would never take it out, but I think builds that entirely rely on it for newb ganks are just lamecakes and should be nerf batted to oblivion.

When you say you're removing crouch hide, are you going after an environment-based mechanic where you hide merely by standing around bushes, like in Assassin's creed.

    An RPG without Sneaking around?

    Might as well play Castlevania
